So fiddled with the new Pally enhancement "Divine Sacrifice". I like it and I think at high levels it'll be pretty handy with no limit to it's use and only a 3 sec cool down. At high levels the HP and SP cost are not all that big a deal. However I do have one thing I wouldn't mind seeing changed. Pretty unimportant I am sure but would help to make it more clear I think. Here is the description:

Paladin Divine Sacrifice I:
Prereqs: Paladin level 5, Paladin Extra Smiting II, 15 Action Points spent
Cost: 1 Action Point
Benefit: Giving up some of your life force to win the battle, you empower your next blow against your foe. This attack deals an additional 5d6 Good damage to evil opponents and increases the critical multiplier of your weapon by 1, but costs you 10 hp and 1 sp, whether or not the attack is successful. (3 second cool down)

While I know some people will just say "Oh get over it it's no big deal" I think to be more clear it should state Holy Damage not Good Damage. Good Damage makes me think it's more like Pure Good when it isn't. It doesn't work on anything that isn't evil like Pure Good does. Certainly makes it more clear to newer players. just a thought.

Bug report it that the text is missleading as I'd have the same response you did.

It says to evil opponents, not to non-good opponents.

The text is clear. At worse it takes you an attack to figure it out...

Yes the text is clear, but I'm sure in PnP it's untyped or divine damage type (though it's not detailed).
It's a terrible "spell" enhancement made worse by making it holy damage rather than untyped/divine, or at the very least pure good

I had brought this up before but noone seemed to care, certainly not the devs.

I'll quote you, I am not on Eladrin's ignore list so he'll see your post.:)

Oh I don't deny that it says against "evil". I just think differing damage types of Holy and Pure Good should be more distinct. Good Damage vs Evil and Good Damage vs Non-Good is just to similar. Holy Damage as opposed to Good Damage seems to better seperate the two definitions. Just a thought. not all that tough to code I would think as far as definitions go.

I stand by my assertion that this is a nice enhancement though. People will disagree but considering the utility of a Paladin this is just another nice addition to their damage arsenal.

Holy damage doesn't exist, hence your melee weapon have damage type Good, not Holy. They both do the same kind of damage.
