Like everyone else i have been planning my monk build and came across some really hard choices.. hopefully you guys can help me figure out what's best :D

TWF/ITWF/GTWF Vs Unarmed
Now level 1 monks get 3 attacks with unarmed while a regular TWF user only gets 2
at level 5 an unarmed monk gets 4 attacks and TWF user gets 3
Now this is what i would like to know:
at level 6 you can get ITWF feat raising your number of attacks to 4 (same as an unarmed monk of the same level)
and i imagine that when you get GTWF you're going to have 1 more attack than a regular monk with unarmed, so thats 3 feats for only 1 extra attack.
Unless monks get more unarmed attacks at higher levels a TWF monk does have more attacks, i have no idea because my monk is only level 5 on risia.

Light Path Vs Shadow Path
Basically light path focus on healing and buffing yourself and party members while shadow path focus on weakening/cursing/killing your enemies.
i have only seen one shadow path enhancement while light path gets lots of enhancements maybe thats gonna be updated soon?
Would really appreciate more feedback on this with what everyone discovered.

"Elemental Ways: Grant an elemental stance and an elemental attack, with increasing effects as you go higher in the chain. Available at levels 1/6/12/18, and require a base ability of 12/14/16/18 to acquire. (Air: Dexterity, Earth: Constitution, Fire: Strength, Water: Wisdom.)"

Ok so at the very first stance of this enhancement you get a +2 bonus to one attribute and -2 to the other. theres also an adept stance and a master stance, what i want to know is if at adept stance you would get +4/-4 or it would stay the same +2/-2 ?

There's no such thing as a "regular" TWF user at level 1. DDO characters do not regularly use TWF at very low levels, even if they plan to later. For example, rangers don't even have the TWF feats yet. It is not helpful to compare level 1 attack rates.

No. At level 5 a monk has 3 attacks in his unarmed animation, and a TWF ranger has 4.

You are correct that it strongly looks like a monk can get more total attacks by learning the TWF feats.

It's misleading to try judging the light or dark paths by the enhancements they offer. It's true that light monks can choose 6 enhancements, while dark monks only get the single punch.

But the 5 light enhancements are so weak that they don't really figure into the choice. Getting all of them would let you cast Remove Curse, Cure Disease, Lesser Restoration, Remove Blindness, and eventually Raise Dead. There are enough other ways to achieve those spell effects that it's not going to be worth the APs and Ki for a monk to use them.

The real consideration on light or dark is the hitpoints regained by Fists of Light / Healing Ki, versus the debuffs applied with Fist of Darkness. At this stage light monks look to have the real advantage, but that might change once the initial Monk Rush is over.

Level 1 basic stance is +2/-2.
Level 6 adept is still +2/-2.
Level 12 master is +3/-2.
Level 18 super-master is unknown.

I just logged in to check this out, actually the animation is misleading.. it shows one punch with the right hand.. another punch with the right hand one punch with the left hand and one round kick (4 attacks)
when i checked the combat log i noticed that i only made 3 attacks thats because the second right hand attack doesn't actually happen its only an animation.
