I just hit my 1750 favor, and am all giddy with the power of a 32 pt build. Was thinking about a halfling thrower until i read up on them, then remembered elves had bonuses to bow use, so i came up with this.

Aiming for a ranged specialist build with some ability for close combat, so ranger was a must. Also gives me some self healing capability in the form of wands. Generally I think he'll wear things down from a distance, then switch to twf for in close. With spring attack/shot on the run, would work well as a squishy guard, hunting down stragglers and runners. Fear armor, maybe triple air focus when he gets to crafting (trip guard), although the thought of an improved precision volley loaded with a crafted damage nastiness into a crowd makes me all sorts of happy.

Starting Stats:
Str 16
Dex 20
Con 12
Int 8
Wis 8
Cha 8

Tomes:
Have not picked out my favor tome – Thinking I like Dex,but maybe strength due to armor dex cap
Have a +1 Str tome from a chest, so i could use that with a +2 dex tome.

Attribute increases would go to Str
Of course buy elf dex and fighter str enhancements
Buy all elf ranged enhancements

Ranger - 2 levels
Get some wand whipping capabilities.
1 General feat
Granted feats:
Bow Strength
Rapid Shot
Two Weapon Fighting
Favored Enemy

Fighter 14 levels
8 Fighter Feats
5 General Feats

14 Feats Overall

Must haves:
Point Blank Shot
Precise Shot
Improved Precise Shot
Focus: Ranged
Specialization: Ranged
Improved Crit: Ranged
ManyShot

Would Like:
Dodge
Mobility
Shot On The Run

I think would help with close combat:
Spring Attack - Might as well, since I have the prereqs
Improved TWF - More slashy/bashy
Quick Draw – Switch from bow to hand weapons quickly, gives me more options with thrown weapons

1 feat left – maybe improved crit slash to help with damage dishing (kukri + scimitar twf ftw)

The elf ranged enhancements end up being about equivalent to greater focus/spec

So I could use any constructive criticism, advice on when to get feats or any other useful feats, enhancements, whatever.

If you want to go ranged combat, I would suggest going 11 Ranger / 4 Fighter / 1 Barb (Elf)

Elf = +3 attack +2 dmg each shot, +2 Dex
Barb 1 = +2 dmg when raged + extra hp + 10% speed boost on movement, which helps keep you out of danger
Fighter 4 = +1 attack +2 damage with weapon spec + free feats
Ranger 11 = all the free twf and ranged feets + spells

Starting Stats:
STR: 18
DEX: 18
CON: 12
WIS: 8
INT: 8
CHA: 8

At each lvl up put your points into STR. You'll find your able to hit things with you BaB + your already high DEX.

Feats I'd take: Point Blank Shot, Dodge, Mobility, Shot on the Run, WF: Ranged, WS: Ranged, Power Critical, IC: Ranged, Toughness

You'll get: Manyshot, Rapid Shot, Precise Shot, Improved Precise Shot, TWF, ITWF, GTWF, Diehard

Enhancements: Fighter Haste Boost II, Fighter Critical Accuracy II, Fighter Toughness II, Fighter STR I, Elf Ranged Attack II, Elf Ranged Dmg II, Ranger Hide II, Ranger Move Silent II, Deepwood Sniper I, Elf DEX II, Ranger DEX III, Fighter Armor Mastery I, Favored Dmg III
Rest of the points is up to you, I usually put them into either Energy of the Wild II for more SP or into Ranger Jump, your call.

Hope that helps!

You'll wind up without items of having a 23 STR and 23 DEX unbuffed. Which isn't bad at all. With items and a +1 tome you can hit 30 in each without too much trouble.

Edit: Just remembered also go Neutral Good for more weapon choices. Since your UMD won't be super high.

I have a 12 fighter 4 ranger eleven ranged oriented char. I am not a fan of what you are proposing because you are really proposing a gimped ranger. If you are going to intermix two weapon fighting with ranged combat then you should be making a ranger. What I do with my ranged fighter build is I will go sword and board with a vorpal or two handed at times, although lately I have been very heavy ranged I think because I don't have great melee weapons on my fighter and he is well kind of gimped I think with melee even with 32 str with ram's might.

Throwing weapons are not effective in ddo and almost nobody has quick draw in game. I would highly recommend greater weapon focus ranged and greater weapon specialization ranged - these are how fighters do damage in game in addition to your enhancements. Other feats to be considered are toughness (since you don't have evasion you might as well have more hit points) and improved crit for your melee weapon. I would recommend 4 levels of ranger because then you could qualify for arcane archer as an elf with the mental toughness fest, which you could also pick up, which could be good when you get upper levels with +5 arrows at level 20 the question will be if they change this prestige class when quivers come out. The other thing to keep in mind is leaving your options open for a 16 fighter/ 4 ranger split for the inevitable fighter prestige class (something like weapon master) which will probably come out someday with a part 1 at level 6 and a part 2 at level 15. My guess is mod8. One other point is fighter haste boost is really nice. Use it right before you use manyshot and you will do alot of dps..

Your 1750 +2 tome will be bound to the character that you unlocked 1750 with. To get a +2 tome on your new toon, you will need to get that character to 1750 also.
