Objectives
The original request was simply for a dwarf who used light repeating crossbows using no tomes. This revision is drastically different from the original rogue/paladin/fighter. With Kensei and more levels to work with, as well as monk I decided to create a character that was a true crossbow master. For this build I substituted heavy for light crossbows, but eventually it gets all the exotic crossbow proficiencies. As much as I find the idea fun and I think it can be effective, I wanted to give the build a melee option and two weapon fighting was easy enough to work in. Dwarf is not a natural ranged combat race but I'll use its durability advantages in the build.

Design
I wanted evasion in here and monk splash gives that as well as feats. Without concentration unarmed isn't really a great option except for battling slimes or the like. The TWF options are better, enough to contribute but not really enough to call itself a striker/DPS character. Quick draw lets you swap crossbows around or switch to melee quickly, gives a thrown weapon speed boost, and lets you fire action boosts with less interruption. I see this character using a toolbox of specialized ranged weapons and ammunition, lining up multiple targets, and having at them rapid fire. After playing around with ideas for skills in the end I just went with jump and balance for mobility sake.

For defense I mostly focused on hit points and saving throws. The high dex and wisdom bonuses should help with AC but on a ranged build its kind of a lost cause. Saves are better than most fighters thanks to the stat distribution and monk levels. And of course you have the dwarven spell save bonuses at work.

I'd not say this is a great character, but if crossbows are your thing, its pretty darn good.

Play
When playing solo, haste potions or good strider's are premium items for this build. For self healing, potions are really your only option, but of course the goal is not to get pounded on overly much if you can help it.

Variations
There is a lot you can play with, swapping feats out or adjusting stats slightly, but overall I think this set up satisfies the design goals well.
