Would there be a way to add a non-friends/non-guild tab for the chat windows. Is there a simpler way to filter out the Plat Seller’s ****...please?

I know this seems like an extreme response to PLAT SPAMMERS but...they are hitting me at LEAST 10x an hour! If we could filter these out so that we wouldn't see them, that would work GREAT. If you were looking for a party or chatting with someone you just met...simply pull up that window tab and/or ask to add them to your friends list.

I am getting sick of the Plat /tells...any help?

I'd rather see a limit on the amount of tells trial accounts can send /minute (e.g: max. 3 different people within the same minute). I think it would be much better than an unconfirmed chat channel (that no pugger could filter out....). See how the "unconfirmed" mail tab is totally useless now that trial accounts can't send mail anymore.

I am all for limiting the trials...but, there are a lot of new folks that use the /tells for advice and help from strangers. If you continue to limit their tools/access to help, it might further be a barrier to the innocent players that need the help.

A chat filter to me seems like an easy enough item to add...but what do i know.

Problem with chat filter is I constantly tell/receive tells from people outside of my friends/guild, just to set up groups.
And I agree we should not turn off new players by limiting them too much, but as a new player, do you need to be able to contact hundreds of different players in an hour to get help?

If someone WANTED/NEEDED to have the contents of the Non-confirmed chat window up at all times they could just go into the chat properties and select to receive them...that way if someone doesn't want them, they can choose that as an option too.

I'm still not sure why the most obvious solution has not been implemented. The most common plat sites are in every single /tell we get. A simple filter scanning for those names - amended with the new variants they would come up with - that simply sends the offending /tell(s) off into the nether world....:p

(If it also immediately flagged the account to the powers as a possible spam account, so much the better.)

eh. Just a thought.

That'll require someone to constantly keep on top of the spammers, and add the variants/new URL's to the filter. I doubt that will happen.
