Seriously they were thinking about it, I also heard a vicious rumor that Fox hates the SCI Fi Channel for what they did to them when it came to Stargate (they acutally let the writers, write unlike Fox's producers and executives who are the rejects in Television), that is why they did not sell the rights to SCI Fi (which is owned by NBC)-

So far I think someone should take the executives who killed the show and flogged them and then make them watch all of American Idol (I hate that freaking show!)

i can second the rumor of a fireflyish mmo and its on a podcast (geekcorpsradio.com) in the early 20's or something if you got the itunes look for the serenity/firefly show

And yes, Firefly was hands down the coolest sci-fi idea since sliced bread.
