View Full Version : Trying this the nice way, so maybe we can get a dev response

With the new death penalty there seems to be a new concern: returning throwing weapons. These cannot be repaired currently and under the new system they will be damaged every time a death occurs with the thrower equipped. Now there are some people who have really nifty returning throwing weapons like vorpals and paralyzers and such and if they die a few times (10 at level 14) that weapon will be damaged beyond use and there will be no way to repair them, bound or not. Now I understand that the issue is somewhere along the lines of the returners being treated as ammo therefore it doesn't take damage from use (only incidental damage such as the new death penalty) and this made it not a big deal in the past. Now, however it is a big deal.

So, I (and many others) would appreciate a dev response on whether this is something being attempted for Mod 6 or if everyone should put their returners in the bank for now while you work on a solution. Thank you so much if you are able to take the time to respond. I know simple courtesy can often yield better results than vitriol.

Sure I take the time to right a nice friendly request and a dev goes and responds to the meaner one while I'm typing. Oh well, lol.

Thanks Phax, great to know the problem will be addressed.

Already addressed in a different thread with the same topic. A dev wandered in and stated that throwing weapons will be repairable in Mod 6. Check here (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=132622) for the answer.
