Mainly looking for arcanes and clerics.
Requirement for the Abbot Runs 250+ hp, but 320+ hp preferred (warchanter exception).

Clerics must have quicken, empower healing, and prefer maximize.
Arcanes must have quicken and a decent fire spec.
Clerics and Arcanes should have a decent supply of mana pots

With the recent news that they are fixing the raid (making the puzzles easier) on an undetermined date this raid will only have this level of challenge for so long so lets take advantage of it while we can.

will be in game as lalalala on Sunday night.

Meh, not interested in helping when you try to tell me how my character should be built and played.

Rethink your approach and you'll probably have better luck.

lol I had a typo in the header for this thread and now I can't change it.

I want to beat the abbot. The abbot's inferno does 220-250 damage. When you die you get a -10 to stats, one of those being constitution. If your cleric is without quicken you will fail your concentration check in the inferno. The puzzles are currently unworkable unless perhaps you have 12 people in the same house/room on the same network although you would still have range misfiring issues. This all adds up to the requirements above, turbine set those requirements not me I just want to beat the abbot.

There are always dragonshards. eat some change your feats when the quest is done eat some change them back..

I don't need to change anything. You might want to rethink your approach if you think that's required to beat the raid.

so you have beaten it caliban since the changes and not by some newly discovered exploit?

Have you even been able to get a group to go in with you?

I've seen your LFM's, you never seem to have more than 4 people...

well I had 6 yesterday, but my lfms are just as much about why did people give up and by that I me the so called power gaming elite. This is an awesome challenge so why did some of these guys and gals turn their backs on it. As Fallout said in the official abbot raid passage there is a low reward high risk in beating the abbot right now, but for many of these power gamers who have more loot, gear, raid loot, then they know what to do with here is your chance to actually use that gear, purchase the right gear, etc. with a purpose in mind instead of it sitting in the bank.

I have gotten my guildies interested in it so I know it is looking more likely possible to get a crazy party like the one I am advertising here -

Infidel it would not surprise me that TA has made substantial progress/maybe even beaten the abbot. This quest is tailor made for TA - as organization and communication are essential. Ventrilio would probably be helpful as well to remedy the communication lag/issues. There is a rumor that somebody on Khyber has beaten the abbot, hmmm.

I am in a small guild - I like my guild, but sometimes you can't easily do things like the abbot raid that is just reality...

Probably because there are not that many clerics and arcanes with 250+ or 320+ hp. Not saying there aren't any, but there aren't many. Probably limiting yourself to WF and dwarf builds, maybe human.

Good luck with your run maddmatt70, hopefully it will get off the ground.

with multiple toughness feats you can get nearly every character type/class above 250 hp.. You just need dragon shards...

Yes, it can be done, I never said it could not. However, you will also limit what your character can do, especially in the feat starved classes like clerics and sorcerers. Do you honestly believe a non-human cleric or sorc (5 feats) should spend multiple feats on Toughness? Probably not.

Also, think about what your statement really suggests for a moment. You are essentially saying that people should swap out perfectly good feats that are useful for (perhaps nearly) 100% of gameplay in order to take several iterations of the same feat, all in the name of boosting their HP total to survive ONE quest that, by collective opinion, is broken?

Both my wizard and my cleric have over 250 hit points (both dwarves, as you guessed). I'm just not that interested in trying this with somone who wants to tell me how to build and play my character.

Especially someone who puts insults in his LFM when he doesn't get people to join him.

I was just suggesting that he might want to rethink his approach if he wants to get this done. But if he's happy with how this is working out for him, then by all means, carry on. I wish him luck. :)

huh.. I did not think I was insulting anybody. I just don't understand why people have given up the raid. It is not something that you do 20 times at this point it is more something you do a couple of times, but why not. Alot of people are leaving this game and here is something for them to do and try instead of leaving the game. Caliban I am not sure what your character's names are, but if you have run with me before you know that I don't insult people or the like.

My best build, best character, and maybe my favorite character to play is my drow bard. My drow bard does not have 250 hp - she could probably if she swapped out 3-4 of her feats, but I just don't like her surviveability and overall effectiveness in the raid. Is she a bad build as I said before I think she is an awesome build. My dwarven wiz is a very hardy build and works really well in there. Is my wiz my favorite character to play - no. If I could switch accounts with someone who has a hardy cleric I would. I personaly like to play tanks, clerics, and bards more then arcanes or rogues.

I was just being honest up front maybe the better approach is to have a pst in the abbot raid message without the requirements. Then when somebody sends a tell I can respond what I think is needed. If they don't like it they can tell me where to go in effect.

Finally, people have many characters - I have 5 capped. It really is not too much of an ordeal to make one of those characters an abbot raid character; and furthermore, I am guessing some people have alot of dragon shards at this point/ and or plat to buy more so they could do frequent feat swapping.

Again send me a tell if your interested in running...
