So currently I have a L7 wizrogue who i've been having fun with, but he seems to be lacking, he has a fairly high str but a lower dex and i made him with h. repeaters in mind but I got confused along the way an never put points into dex? Lol So i've been trying to think of revision for him with more of a dex-based core. At l7 he sits at 74 HP and 372 SP, Nothing fancy and I'm not really looking to hit high numbers in those areas, I know its all a bit clumped and I am trying to squeak through on traps too, please critque

Also, this build isn't designed to do frontline fighting, just using the repeater and casting a spell when it suits him. No raid loots or +2 tomes either, I won't have them most other things (+6 items +13/15 skill items, assume I have)

Sorry to say this, but I suggest starting over.

One simple reason, if you don't have an 18 Int, you can't keep up on your Rogue skills.

I suggest something like this.

I have to agree with above poster and suggest reroll with basically the same stats. I suggest lvl 1 rogue and if you insist on taking more than one level (evasion bonus) of multiclass i suggest no more than 2. The reason behind only 2 is at lvl 19 you will still get lvl 9 spells. If you have 3 lvls of crossclass you will never be able to get to lvl 9 spells until epic levels are installed (if ever). My arcane trickster is lvl 14 (12 wiz 2 rogue) and there is very little that he cannot do and if i was able to respec a few skills to get rid of repair (which is a waste) i would be able to do every trap and lock in the game. as it stands i only miss the cabal elite search.

final stats at level 14 are below based on my drow wiz 12 rogue 2

Str 14 (8 base +6 item)
Dex 24 (16 base +3 feat +5 item)
Con 20 (12 base +2 tome +6 item)
Int 30 (19 base +2 tome +6 item +3 feat)
Wis 12 (base only could be higher with item)
Char 16-20 (14 base +2 or +6 item)

I'm not quite sure why I need an 18 int to keep my rog skills up, at l7 currently with the right goggles equipped all of his rog skills are sitting in low-mid 20s unbuffed, I am also not found of that 3rd lvl or rogue over bard, my only reason for even taking 2 lvls of rog was not for evasion, but for +1 bab at lvl 3 to take heavy repeaters, the level of bard at lvl 4 opens up cure wands with no fail which I would not be able to hit with UMD at that level. I will do another revision based on your suggestions so please keep giving me feedback. Also I'm not a huge fan of min/max builds, been there done that. Also at level 15 I plan on taking that feat that allows you to use your CHA mod for will saves, which is why i will leave wis untouched.

With a +5 int item and +13/DD/OL/Search Items along with GH and Focusing Chant and a Bard song would his rog skills still be too low? Also thinking about dropping MT for Weapon Finese

Why?

Not only do I completely disagree -- after over 1.5 years of playing rogues in DDO, I honestly do not understand.

A 16 INT is more than enough. A 14 INT is solid. A 12 INT is doable if you are elf/drow. 18 INT is a waste of build points. 4 build points (assuming drow) for +1 search/+1 disable device? Pointless and weakens your character.

If there is some trap you can't search for with a 16, great equipment, and good enhancements, I say just run through it (which the fighters probably already did anyway...).

There are only 5 skills that matter, and only 3 (DD, Search, Open) that really really matter for the "rogue's job" and only 2 that really really need to have max ranks (DD, Search).

A 12 INT rouge can max 9 skills, which is more than enough. Even with multiclassing, it is more than enough.

One other thing, how stuck on evasion are you? Unless you took the second level of rogue to bolster skills I don't think your reflex save is going to be all that great what are you sitting at 14 without items? So a 19 w/ Karadin's eye? That'll get you through normal stuff maybe some hard but thats probablly about it.

Not trying to come off as a rogue elitist or anything but it has been my experience that many people who never played a rogue and/or higher level ranger make evasion builds and then wonder why they are still getting hit by everything with a craptastic Reflex save. So long as you have a good reason run with it:)

Guess I'm jaded :) Everytime I see /rogue 2 I think evasion build...

So i birthed this character yesterday as Zurrg, Really having a blast, parties don't seem to like me for obvious reasons, but I often lead the kill count and rarely have to heal myself. I made one goof up though, when taking bard at lvl 4 i didn't put the correct amount of points into perform and now I will have to fix it at lvl 5 :)
