Maybe some people would like to say some things they enjoy or otherwise about the new content.

Here are some things that I enjoy or have noticed. It seems that many people enjoy the collectibles from tapestries etc. I thought the list was pretty far-reaching and that the reasonable amount of collectibles required was going to allow more people to benefit from the items.

The 3 main quests in the Orchard of the Macabre instance are neat, they do not in my opinion have the same unique appeal as the Gianthold pre-preraid quests did upon first impression. But, I think the storyline behind them is interesting, and they offer a new set of challenges. There is nothing here that was similar to the impression I had the first time I ran Prison of the Planes. So far I have only played my cleric through them and I'm sure I will have a different viewpoint upon running other classes through. I was afraid that mobs would be all incorporeals, etc. but it is pretty diverse through each quest.

I like the Orchard instance and that it's filled with explorers, etc. Finding the lay of the land is getting easier with repeated explorations. I just think some of the creatures are a little nasty, LOL.

Pre-raid quests: Just plain cool. I have enjoyed all 4 of them so far, I like that it is all tied into the main storyline and that it actually seems pretty substantial. We had a lot of fun with the black dragon, and it was cool to see how they would render an adult black dragon. It is nice to have a challenge again as far as working together to figure out how to defeat the bosses, and some of the challenges as in Mentau's final room with the levers and so forth. Again I'm sure my perspective will change playing a non-cleric.

The raid: So far, it's been enjoyable. The mechanics of it are pretty interesting. I like the way they designed the main battle area and the rooms that you port too are also interesting. I will say that it offers a lot of new challenges that we have been yearning for in light of the wait between mods. Fun stuff.

And finally, the things that make me laugh the most:

Mentau, the Fleshmaker
The zombie train of body parts... I'm not sure why, but it does
Wishy making the bats dance in the Otto's Sphere
Anyone else have any thoughts or things they enjoy about new content?

Overall I love the mod. It runs smoother and has less lag. For the most part I love the new quests. Gathering tapestries is a nice way to level a 10-13 too.

Tormented is tormenting.
Vol seems way too easy compared to the others. The whole problem is firewall.

Lots of flavour here...

The collectables actually have all my jaded friends in collection mode:D Hell, last I heard... one guildy already had 54 tapestry pieces:eek:

The mobs are balance and varied, requiring some teamwork to get right... and an unbalnced party can actually get in trouble quick... it is nice to see that a party that I was in actually commented that they needed a tank, becuase 4 casters and a cleric might have difficulties:)

Yes.. the Wagon of Body Parts is kicken...

...and while I am no where near to understanding every aspect of this update, it is definitely doable short-manning and varied enough to be worthy of keeping my membership:)

..great job devs

Earlier today I ran a group half guild and half pug through Inferno on elite. Now this was pure evil! 163 minutes of pure evil! Now this was due mainly to half the group never experiencing the quest and getting separated and alot of death, wipes and recalling. 2 out of 3 puggers quit group. Now I don't have a problem with that, hey you spent 2 hours in a quest you're frustrated it's ok. My only gripe was they dropped without a word, that's lame; just tell me you are dropping and I'm ok with it - I promise I won't yell. I will give great props to a paladin from the guild Avatar who hung with us to the end. I won't name him in case he doesn't want to be, but you know who you are.

That's the background...my favorite part of the quest?

The wipe we had at a rez shrine. Now I know everyone in the group guildies included thought I was insane. But it became a challenge to me to kill everything I saw. So I rezzed, attacked, died...repeated! I must have rezzed some near 20 times only to be followed by some crazied lunge at my foes with a mere 30 hp only to be chopped down again moments later. Finally with the last of my enemies defeated, my neat xp bar gone down a rank and than some I breathed a sigh of relief.

I have only been in there once in Risia and once on the live servers - but I know where you're coming from - after a certain point - you have to finish - its not a game anymore - its personal :)

Apparently whatever changes were made in mod5 made my computer look at it, lift it's tail, and squirt. I began having troubles about 3 days before release, with video blanking out then popping back. When I tagged my computer guru, he said "wait and see what happens after the update, maybe it'll settle down, maybe it won't. Either way I'll know more." He included some techno-greek that made me give blank stare... something about codes and drivers..
So Thursday came and went, I was happy, no hiccups that night, until the wee hours of friday morning.
Suddenly, no DDO for Uma, and only about 1/2-1 hour time in new content.
/sad
Computer guru say "hrm"
Sits down at Uma's computer.
tacktacktackclicketytack
"Fixed."
So now I go lookie loo... and see if I can't get a nibble of what's got Erda so Purtah happy.

You stated it perfectly. After a certain point, it's not about the xp, the loot or the favor...it's about you and me Mr Tough Guy Mob! I just love being the daredevil crazy dude that will do this kind of stuff!

And you still talk about it days, weeks or months later - "I/we beat that thing - it didn't get the best of me/us" forget that the next time you went into that quest it was a complete cakewalk
