Has anyone out there done more than 2000 damage on a single?
I have been redoing enhancements and swapping weapons and items and i can seem to break 2000 pts of damage. Maxed and empowered Cone for 1984 was my best.

I dont have a caster but a caster buddy copied and pasted his combat log for a cone of cold for 1996 pts of damage i think still not 2k but very close

I know my guildie caster mate has done something like 2200 dmg from a cone of cold and 2100 for a firewall.

See Hami the Jackal in Wiz King explode in about 2 seconds with this is quite amusing

I've came close, but no cigar.

I don't doubt you Bamf, but do you have any idea how???
I have superior potency, superior ice lore, maxed out Elemental Manp, Lineage of Elements, and Lineage of Deady Elements, and still can't break the 1995 mark :( .

It should be possible to just add up the numbers based on a 14th level caster.

Take the appropriate spell. Apply your modifiers. Consider critical success and maximum die stats with meta magick feats. Go.

I honestly don't know which route would break 2000. Kistilan is geared towards acid and electricity so he never comes close to flame walls and cone of colds max'd.

If anyone wants a lesson in how to calculate max spell damage potential, feel free to ask. Max spell damage for any arcane spell from a level 14 caster is 2194.

Talk to Kiraseleia (and I probably butchered that spelling) in Stormbringers. He's rolled out some of the biggest damage numbers I've seen in a while.

Moonrise and Psyk deal in big numbers as well.

Moon? sure. Psyk? nope. Don't think I've ever broken 1000, but then I don't have the crit/crit multiplyer enhancements, nor the superior lore/potency items, nor empower.

Yeah Azure, they're the same. The spells aren't any different for either. If I recall correctly, the enhancements of Sorcerers and Wizards pretty much are the same, which is the only deciding factor on the build. Other than that you've just got the limitations on spells and spell points in Wizards vs Sorcs.

Enhancements I think are named differently, but they do the same thing ie Elemental paths, etc. Just check the enhancements thread to be sure.

Ya Psyk = McNooben.

I have all the enhancements + Max and empower + sup fire/cold/arcane lor + sup pot 6.

My highest cone of cold hit for 1994 so far...just havnt been lucky enough to roll over the 2k mark. Cant remember my firewall numbers in purple but ive had disintergrate hit in the 900s.

Does that count in things like casting a fire spell at a cold mephit, or things of that nature? Or is that raw damage.?

No idea how sorry man - you could catch him in game on Juja or Jujas - pretty sure hes got some twinked fire lore items or something.

It has been been done - cut and pasted combat log.

Me - I struggle with the casting thing - got 2 toons sitting at lev 5 trying to get up, but im hopeless at it - give me a tank any day.

84 * [1 (base) + .4 (enhancement) + .5 (SupPotency)] * [1 (base) + .5 (Empower) + 1 (Maximize)] * [1.5 (base crit) + .75 (enhancement) + .5 (SupLore)] * 2 (creature vulnerabilty) = 2194 dmg and usually to multiple targets! :) (1097 dmg without vulnerability)

Disintegrate is by a small margin the highest damage (to non-vulnerable target) @ lvl 14 is 28d6 = 168 (higher base dmg, but no enhancements and single target only)
168 * [1 (base) + .5 (SupPotency)] * [1 (base) + .5 (Empower) + 1 (Maximize)] * [1.5 (base crit) + .25 (GrLore)] = 1102 dmg

Just for kicks, here's the most blatantly exaggerated spell, Wall of Fire (numbers for central fire, not proximity dmg).

Max WoF Damage @ lvl 14 is 2d6+14 = 26
26 * [1 (base) + .4 (enhancement) + .5 (SupPotency)] * [1 (base) + .5 (Empower) + 1 (Maximize)] * [1.5 (base crit) + .75 (enhancement) + .5 (SupLore)] = 339 dmg per tick

* 2 (to undead) = 679 dmg per tick to undead (not sure if it's x2 or double damage dice, which could be 4d6+14 or (2d6+14)*2)
* 2 (creature vulnerabilty) = 1358 dmg per tick to Mummy (or any other undead with specific vulnerability to fire)

Thanks for the math lesson....but i am 200 damage off both of them...Coc=1984 Wof=1200(around there) and i think i had a firebal for 1400(could be off though).
I have the black robe (evo focus 2) sup pot 6, sup ice and fire lore(not at the same time) Max and Empower. Is there anything else I am missing?

BTW I did mean getting purple #'s just for fun to see how hard a tweaked caster can really hit.

Bamf I'll believe that caster on the CoC but theres no way he can hit 2100 on a firewall unless he's playing a different game than the rest of us. It's just not possible...
