Build Name:The Haymaker
Author: Sigfried Trent
Requester: HvyMetal
Last Updated: 07/13/10

Key Words [THF, Warforged, Barbarian, DPS]

The requester wanted a DPS focused warforged fighter/barbarian that could go with blunt or slashing weapons. Barbarian best lends itself to being weapon type agnostic so I will focus heavily on that. While not the most original build, this is a classic and very effective character.

Frenzied Berserker more or less builds itself. Take lots of damage enhancers, power attack and cleave. Two weapon fighting comes with its own set of feats and its best to start them early. The two fighter levels tweak the build with additional feats and loads them in when you want them. In this case I use it to accelerate the two handed fighting chain and to pick up improved crit for blunt and blade which covers all two handed weapons very nicely.

I end up with two “extra” feats which I use for stunning blow and toughness. Stunning blow is definitely nice as a nod to defense while aiding offense. Toughness is just there for lack of another more exciting choice and you can make good use of it here.

Some attention was given to shoring up weak will saves but in the end they are still quite modest if not abysmal. AC is a joke from day 1 and its a hard build to heal. This is a high maintenance DPS machine, but it sure can crank out the hurt on just about any target.

Be mindful of your healers and bring lots of pots to the party. If you can get an arcane to repair you all the better. Deathward is likely pretty important for you. If you are taking too much heat, a little physical dodging is a good skill to learn. You have tumble so make use of it.

You may want to start with adamantine body and then re-spec that to two handed fighting around level 8. I don’t think its required but if you are not into caution it may be for the best. 28pts works fine here, but you may need to settle with a 16 starting str or ditch the nod to better saving throws by lowering dex and wis.

You are very welcome, I'm glad you like it.

Personally, I'd start with Adamantium body, and put off THF for a few levels, then do a feat swap around level 5 or so....

What would the AC be on this? usin it anyway :D

09-03-2011, 10:29 PM
Also, what are the skill points you put into it? it looks like you max out in balance... what else u put into?
and, you dont say which stat points you go into- im guessing its STR all the way, but i could be wrong?

Sometimes people don't check those dates, dude. Calling necro does nothing to help anyone who has a question pertaining to the thread.
