Objectives
The request was for an Acrobat Halfling Rogue using Bastard swords. At the time acrobat was pretty weak, but its improved a bit and with monk in the game there are more ways to support it. Last time out I did a pretty modest sword and shield rogue with thrown weapons as a side line. It was not exciting.

This time I’m going all out with two handed fighting to support the bastard swords, using monk to crank up the Q-Staff side of acrobat, and taking kensei for extra damage through feats. The result is far more potent than the original.

Design
I love monk 2 / fighter 6 for pairing with any combat build due to the wealth of feats you get to work with and the ability to take them nearly anywhere in the build. Halfling may short a bit on Str, but its built in attack bonus and easy dex boosts make it pretty good for a TWF with near equal dex and STR, and with quarter staves that eventually pays off.

I pump the bastard swords as the priority, but I give decent love to quarter staff and unarmed shortly after I shore up bastard swords in the build. As a result you get a very nice range of weapon styles you can use.

Monk also brings a very nice AC profile and toughness brings enough HP to make this build able to hang in combat and take a few hits. Along with evasion and such this should make a good boss beating build.

Rogue skills are not amazing, but they should be serviceable in most situations, especially if you keep your gear up to date. And of course you can tumble and jump like the wind itself. :)

Play
Like all rogues you do more damage when you don’t have agro so try and avoid getting it. Pair with a strong DPS or intim tank and be their shadow. But this build will do significant damage so you may need to use deception or radiance to ensure sneaks. Even if you don’t get sneak, this build can still stand and deliver pretty well.

Don’t forget your haste boosts :)

Variations
If you want a more traditional build you can drop bastard sword action for THF feats and focus on the Q-Staff and Unarmed. 28pts is tricky here as you need Str and Dex and really want Int and Wis and Con to be decent.

Thanks a lot. I like the build a lot. I'm wondering though if 21hp warrant the toughness feat. If not, what could be fun with him? Or maybe if i level to 20 (it would be 27hp if rogue16/fighter2/paladin2), i should take other fighter levels?

Your very welcome, it was a fun one to make. Toughness is definately optional. This build didn't really cry out for any particular feats except bastard sword and skill focus UMD. Didn't need any more skill bumps, wasn't super focused on any kind of combat or on tanking etc.. So I wen't with some pretty all purpose stuff like toughness. If you would like something else it just means you have a bit less HP and a bit more of something else. I think I went toughness just to give some more leaway in combat since it was to some extent built for it.

I actualy quite like the halfling dragon marks. Taking those might be as good or better than toughness and the throwing feats if you want to invest a little in the enhancements to get extra uses of them. I'd drop the two throwing enhancements and Fighter toughness, perhaps Confirm critical, that would get you the first three ranks of the dragonmark enhancement line.
