Online from what I have read and understand, your original FE increases in power as you reach level 5 and 10 and so on. Does the same apply to DDO?

To clarify, you hated orcs since you were born, and grew to hate undead at level five, however you hit orcs harder than undead at level five not equally as it might be suggested as you have just started hating undead.

Also if that is true, won't it seem kinda not Dungeons and Dragons to switch your first and most hated FE at higher levels as it seems fit? Isn't that more of a learned ability than a trained?

Here in DDO we seem to have it better: d20 3.5 SRD rules (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/ranger.htm#favoredEnemy)

As best as I can tell we get the maximum bonus available at level for all favored enemies. (Otherwise I can't explain the 47 pt crit My ranger made on an ogre...)

DDOs favorite enemy does not have a growing power like PnP does. In DDO, each time you get a favorite enemy you get +2 dmg to all your favorite enemies, Instead of PnPs +1 diff bonuses on older enemies at new FE unlocks.

So lvl 13 DDO rangers can get +10 dmg on all their favorite enemies(+6 from 3 FEs and +4 from enhancements).

A level 20 DDO Ranger will have:
5 FEs (1,5,10,15,20) at all of which are +10 to damage UNENHANCED. EACH SWING. That would be up to 70 free damage with Greater TWF.

With enhancements going the way they are we can estimate for Favored Damage 6 right? That would be crazy.

Don't forget - It's pre crit multiplier damage. (Otherwise I still can't explain the 47 pt crit with a rapier.)

For you math nuts here's my guess as to how I hit the 47pt range: 1d6 Rapier +2 Elf Enhancement +3 Weapon +6 FE damage +7 STR bonus = 1d6+18 = 19-24. Crit of x2 multiplier 2d6+36

Yep it gets applied to criticals but I think PnP doesnt. Like Im doing up to 104 dmg with a lt pick on reaver giant on my ranger.

1d4 lt pick +1 weapon +4 greater bane +6 fav enemy +3 fav enemy enhancement +6 seeker +8 str = (1d4 +24) x4 = 100-112 - the giants dr which changes.

Hehe with bard songs or FE, TWF is the only way to go because its static bonus to both hands unlike THF.

Well, I have one pure Ranger character that will benefit!

As for my other multi-classed Rangers, I built them with Hide in Plain Sight in mind. If that's not implemented, I can always stop at Ranger 15 and play around with the other classes for the remaining 5 levels.

Oh yes... With a seeker +10 item offhanded, I hit 50-70 point crits against favored enemies with a rapier.. Good times!
