There is a section of DDOwiki (http://ddo.enterwiki.net/page/Home) that might not be known of all: the Starting a [însert class here] section. Each class have their own and... honestly... they need some cleaning. Things were writting by different editors some knew what they were doing... some less. I was thinking of updating these guides... when I'll have som free time... which is really rare since there is a lot of section of the wiki that needs my attention.

Somebody did me the surprise today, of wanting to update the Starting a Cleric (http://ddo.enterwiki.net/page/Starting_a_Cleric) guide. I thank this person as she let show that she read the forums here. I was about to see if I could had anything... and then I told myself that I never really played a cleric and that maybe some of you folks could help me. :)

So, here I am!:p I'd like to hear what you guys think of the edits that were made and of the information that is currently there. Those feeling like it may go and edit it themselves, others may discuss it here. (Please before editing... create an account, it makes it easier for us to know who is doing what.:)) There are however a few things to keep in mind:

The information on the wiki must be kept easy to under stand for newcomer.
Different opignion must be shown as long as all are good options. Reason to prefer one over an other must be explained. This is to avoid the flaming like "That feat isn't work it, IMO". Just say this is prefered because blah, blah, blah.
Suggested build must be easy for newcomers to reproduce, try to not do something too gear-dependant. There are exception as Intimitanks are gear dependant but are too much sample build to be ignored.
Go with safe value, not your personnal taste.
Keep the build 28 point but indicate where you'd add the four other points.
I'm there to fix any mistakes, so go ahead and mess with the wiki! (He is bulletproof, you cannot break it.)

I'll be watching this thread like an hawk, just PM or post here if you got a question.

LOL - Borror - I think you mean me, in which case that is a "he", not a "she". Either that, or it is incredible coincidence since that page hasn't been updated in awhile and I just worked on it yesterday.

* Starting a Cleric (http://ddo.enterwiki.net/page/Starting_a_Cleric) - made a bunch of changes yesterday, would like others to input their ideas as well as present builds for an "Offensive Caster" and "Melee Cleric".

An additional note on the builds beyond Borror's comments - the builds on the "starting a" pages should probably be pretty "cookie cutter" - one for each common type. A dozen variations or everyone posting their own personal favorites would just confuse a new player.

* Cleric Enhancements (http://ddo.enterwiki.net/page/Cleric_enhancements) - Finished those todays. If anyone can find any corrects that need to be made or descriptions that could use more clarification, it would be appreciated. Especially the damage range for the "Silver Flame Exorcism" enhancement.

* Cleric Tactics (http://ddo.enterwiki.net/page/Cleric_tactics) - About to upload an updated version of that tonight, using ideas and suggestions that have come out of a lot of the recent posts made for new players

* Cleric Equipment (http://ddo.enterwiki.net/page/Cleric_equipment) - Pretty out of date as well, and next on the list after tactics. Again, there has been some good threads on here covering just that subject, would be nice to see it preserved in something better than just the forums.

Yeah, I understood later on as one of your post is almost a carbon copy of the wiki. ;) The "she" was refering to the term "person".. which is feminine in french. :p I know it's not the same in english but... oops.:p

Exactly, well said. I often have clumsy wording... that's what I meant. I don't want twelve healbot and fiften battle cleric... I want them the most cookie-cutter possible with information on why X more than Y. I'd like the clerics to discuss the information found there, as one's opignion is not enough for me. :) I want really complete information on the wiki.

If anyone feel like updating any other section, I'm willing to help!!!:D And Soj... thanks a lot.:) Now.. let's get that enhacement template fixed. ;)

I added a few edits, based on what I have found regarding the surprising (to some) usefulness of Dexterity and Mithril. I thought the objections to them in the original articles was overstated. I don't know whose objections they were, but I softened them and added what they could be used for.

Also altered a blanket statement that Clerics should not use wands and scrolls, and added a caveat showing where they can be used in good faith and to much positive effect without becoming a Bad Player Crutch.

Thanks, read all your edits. Good stuff. This is what I was looking for.

One person simply cannot see all the options there are to see. Sojourner doesn't value dexterity, but you did. By putting all our opignions in a (organised) whole, I think that we will be able to give new players very suggestions. :)
