First of all, i know 2 things about this build already that you do not need to repeat: I know it has a -2 to charisma as a wf (and is therefore 2 DC behind a drow or a human with a +3 tome), and I know that I miss a lvl 7 spell.

I will get around the DC issue for the most part by being a nuker build with great firewalls and CoC's and an awesome scorching ray. Being able to self heal after I draw aggro with both reconstruct scrolls and the repair spells is also something other sorc's cannot do so well (most can use CMW wands at least, but how much will that really help that 100 pt 3 hit combo by that ogre?). I will, with just static loot and +6 cha item (or +5 item/+1 tome depending on the kind of gear you have) be able to UMD a res on a 3 and a Heal scroll for my fleshie brethren on a 7. Nearly every useful clerical scroll is an easy UMD for me in fact and there is good chance i might even carry a few grtr restoration scrolls (roll of 11) to cure the fleshie's neg levels :)

Another big advantage of this build is an increased sp pool compared to any pure wf sorc. This is just more chance for maxed fw and scorching rays.

Without further ado:

The spell list is really up in the air at the moment because frankly all i know I am going to have is FtS, reconstruct, firewall, scorching ray, cone of cold, jump, a few repair spells (likely serious and light) and probably pk. So I would greatly appreciate any guidance on that front.

Ending UMD:
17 ranks
09 CHA
04 Greater Heroism
03 Cartouche
----
33, as mentioned good for res on a 3 and Heal on a 7
36 total possible with +2 cha tome and +5 UMD raid loot

One more thing, I was seriously debating taking empower instead of spell pen, but I have had so many casters tell me that spell pen is the way to go and empower is overkill that I am inclined to believe them.

HP will be 192 with a +6 con belt on and a GFL docent or possibly ring (have an rr dwarf one he may end up using).

Feel Free to offer any suggestions except a change of race, as I am set on WF.

Spell penetration on a nuker is a waste, spell penetration on a WF nuker is just plain silly. What do you even plan on casting with this that might require Spell Pen?

You're not a real nuker unless you've got Max AND Empower!

Well every once in awhile cc and insta death is better than nuking, or so I'm told.

Pk
FtS

Thats pretty much it. I know its a stretch, and i put the note in there for that purpose really i was asking is the extra spell pen necessary for these spells to land.

I did forget to mention in my OP that i am not a caster player, i have 2 capped tanks and one coming up through the ranks, i have no idea how one is played since the last time i had a capped caster the cap was still 10

Do I know you? Do you have a character in game that I know? This build looks very familiar.

This build works great for warforged. It allows you to play semi-cleric in an all warforged party. The 1 or 2 uses of fascinate can come in handy in a pinch.

I am not a fan of this build on any other race though since a pure human sorc can get umd in the mid 30's, but for a warforged I like it.

I wouldn't take spell penetration either. I would personally take Skill Focus: UMD, and get to 100% on rez scrolls. I think on a build like this you don't worry about insta'kill on mobs that have high SR. Thats what web and or glitterdust are for.

I am a big fan of glitterdust, It seems to be underused in this game, but i use it really well with firewall. I think it would go well with this build. Glitterdust is a conjuration spell so it bypasses SR. Throw down a glitterdust then a firewall and you will take alot less damage when all the mobs are blinded and trying to hit you in the firewall.

The nice part about glitterdust is the enemy AI will still charge you as if they can see you, but they will miss alot when they swing due to blindness. With this in mind it may be worth taking spell focus conjuration for that little extra kick.

Wiglin, thanks for the encouragement and the tips! Glitterdust I see being used quite well in end game by casters in places like cabal and sometimes in crucible. It was already on my "probably gonna take" list. As far as web I do not think I have the slots for it. Like, for second level spells I might end up with Resist Energy, Scorching Ray, Glitterdust, and ???. I could take web or Repair Mod.

Oh and Ghoste, no you do not know me, i play on Ghallanda. This build was just something I came up with after the guild decided we didn't have enough casters

I just love playing WF so had to make a WF caster.

So, SF: UMD or empower in place of spell pen? Seems to be the real question here I think.

I would take web for the lest spell. It works wonders on the undead when you are trying to conserve sp.

I have never been a proponent of taking empower and maximize. I know some sorcerer who take it, but any battle that it would really shine in I usually have full sp, so I just stack the firewalls on each other.

Pick whatever suites you. As long as your spell choice is solid you can get by with whatever feats you want.
