View Full Version : The Mithril Hand: now accepting clerics

This is a question that has always been up in the air with the guild, but we finally came to a decision today to allow warforged clerics to join.

There is however one important stipulation: Mithril Hand clerics must focus more on offensive casting then they do on healing. And doing the whole battle cleric fighting thing is also acceptable.

We are also eagerly discussing a guild alliance with a guild who wants do set up all warforged nights. We would obviously provide most of the spell power.

I'd be interested in the all Warforged character groups. Warforged will show the meatbags that we don't need them!

Look me up in game. I can also refer you to a guild that will take wf tanks. Looks like we will be running some all wf nights with them.

Hmmm. TF has a new crop of WF coming along... we have a 14 fighter, 13/1 Wiz/ftr Battlemage(me), a 12/2 sorc/rog battlemage, a 14 barb(that manky ozoro character), a 13/1Cleric/Ftr and a few more battlemages coming up... Maybe we can join with you guys sometimes.

Shoot me a PM and il talk to the guys.

Hey, hold on....

WE RUN THE FOUNDRY NOW!!

Quit glorifying Wf's and quit buying in to the AMAZING RACE Turbine offered us, guess all the other races were just a bit behind development at game launch.

But really, good luck, can't say I envy anyone who is in the state of being so bored with this game that they make a WF Cleric-might be time to check out a different game.

Warforged have many good properties now that they're no longer watered down and living up to their standard as per table top gaming.

The reason for a cleric WF isn't at all primary healing (duh), but that is always available when necessary. A WF Cleric is obviously battle/attack spell-oriented, especially if grouped with other WF (where the mage can cast a better heal spell).

I think it's a fine deal.

I've actually a 1 wiz 2 rogue 11 barbarian warforged (batman barbarian) and he's heaps fun.

Thanx for the info, I never knew you could take do that sort of thing to a WF, what does that require? Must be some kind of special secret noone is telling me about. You see I always thought that krap was krap, I didn't know you could sculpt krap, or better yet, enjoy sculpting krap, that must be what I'm missing out on-lol

Seriously though, how bored can you be, oh wait, as bored as I am at this moment writing this, I could always go start up that WF toon I've always dreamed of, lol.

Have fun, someday maybe I'll craft your toons into some Adamantine goods that would be worth more than your WF would ever be.

I rarely understand/get kistilian but at this point in time i find i agree with him. You sir are an idiot. A Warforged battlemage is one of the most viable/powerful characters in the game if the player behind the keyboard has any twitch reflexes at all. Writing off a race is ridiclous. If you are bored stop trolling.

Any battlemage is one of the most viable/powerful characters, doesn't matter what race he is, as for trolling, this would be me responding to you...This race was written off even before you probably started playing. Now tell me Knick, do my words really harm you to call me an idiot, coz I may start crying over here, I didn't mean to hurt you with my WF comments, I was expressing my opinions on the WF, I didn't see a WARNING telling me to not post anything bad about WF's in this thread, please don't call me an idiot coz that really really hurt my feelings, about as much as my feelings were hurt when I found out that the WF is garbage. One quick question have you ever even played a WF to verify what your saying. I mean past lvl 5. If not then do not comment on things you do not know.

Yes I have, actually he was my third character, and he made it to 10, and he was not worth playing, very good fighter build, but not good enough, and it wasn't only the healing, he just was not as good as a dwarf or human could be, and if you look at it across the board with other classes, they just don't cut the superior builds. You know, Turbine in a lot of people's minds made a big mistake with the WF, and it has stood true to the test of time, most people make different builds from different races, and the WF is the least chosen of the races and that is because it is an inferior race. Honestly tell me that you would not have had a different race in this game to begin with.

Like I said earlier, my opinion is mine, I respect everyone's here, but do not for one minute think I'm not going to have some fun at the expense of everyone's favorite race to knock, although I do have some fond memories of certain WF's, like the one we told to go talk to that Rust Emperor and obtain a key in VON 5, maybe they should just make a Jester Hat, +20 to laughs, umd check 50, WF RR. They're more comic relief than a Halfling IMO and that is saying a lot.

Superiority cannot really be claimed to a class, because said class can have many different focuses that one race alone cannot be superior at.

IE - CC Wizard would not be superior as a WF, cannot get maximum DC, therefore can claim no Superiority.

Niche Builds - WF can very well be the superior race for many niche builds, but that does not make them superior for all builds of that class.

In no way am I saying WF are gimp, I am just smacking that whole superior thing in the mouth, because that's just not true.

No single class is above any other, to pretend that is true is to simply have a biased opinion no one really cares about. What truly matters is the player building the character and his whole attitude towards the game.

I'm stoked about my new thread and I hope a lot of you mighty warforged joins our wf-nights.

Davey is right. There's always a trade-off. If you want to get maximum DC, go drow, but then you get -2 con penalty and not to be able to heal yourself fast/good enough or have to use poison/disease immunity item which takes other nice items slots, or have to work on your fort and will save to avoid feeblemind/flesh to stone etc spells, etc etc...

There's really no superiority in this game.

Maximize the benefits while minimizing the costs, you might get a semi-superior build. WF wizard is semi-superior, imo.

Any ideas or hints for the specs on said WF healer? Does he have to be all cleric or will a splash of sorc do?

How big is the guild? I wouldn't mind rolling a WF cleric to adventure around with more WF'd.

As far as multi-classing, that is fine as long as the majority of levels are in either wizard, sorcerer, bard or cleric.

The guild is still small by any standards, about 10 people now I think. Some very active players, but some who are just casual players as well.

FYI, we try to emphasize short manning quests a lot when in guild parties. We try to teach guild members the skills to do this effectively.

Correct, except for the part about negative levels. As far as ability score damage from wraiths, etc. we try to get new members to mkae a point of running Tangleroot a few times so they can carry a supply of their own death ward clickies.

My guess is that Anass tried a warforged back in the first month or two (when they WERE inferior) and wrote them off. His current opinion smacks of ignorance and a overriding failure to stay knowledgable on game developments and changes. I suspect that most of his toons have an action point symbol with the text "you have 52 actions points available to spend" on them, and that he spends his time collecting Threnal Ceremonial Blades.

The WF became extremely viable once they were implemented with full tabletop aspects (rather than having to blow action points/feats on getting them.) They are far from being a gimped race.

Come now, don't forget I also still take adavantage of my daily giant loot runs, and you are wrong on the AP's, like to keep 49 AP's, I make it a purpose to only burn 7 coz that's my lucky number and you never know when you might need 49 AP's. I guess making a WF and clicking on my unavailable Enhancements really doesn't explain to me just what a WF is capable of, oh and toons are very, very, very difficult to figure out-hold on, let me go find a program where I can just input what I want-on the other hand, I guess I could be ignorant (of course stating that I only would have 52 AP's already justifies your state, why would I limit myself to lvl 13??) that might justify the afforementioned quote.

Only Davey makes a strong claim, and that is my bad in mentioning a superior build, so let me strike that, you are right in saying that, although the superior player will tell you that their superior build IS NOT A WF, and I am sure that that is agreeable, which I believe still makes them inferior for the superior player in regards to the other toons that player has.

Would you rather drive a Ford or a Ferrari? Easy enough question that has an easy enough answer. And of course you will have your fanboys who will say 'I love FORD!!!!!' or say 'what about a GT40?? That car Rox!!!', but at the end of the day when you look at the full spectrum of what's available, it's really the Ferraris that are better, and albeit everyone is entitled to their own opinion in both regards (cars and WF's alike), the community a long time ago figured out WF's are what they are, and even with these updates and changes I don't keep up with at all (lol), they still are what they are:inferior to the other races.

No attitude bandy, I'm having fun, at the expense of the WF, and what better way for Ghoste to get some views, this is a fun thread to me, coz it pertains to WF's. Oh and I tell Phoenyxbot what I think of his WF, hell I told Blizzbott the same, I have told all WF's the same thing, lol. I ask them why??? Why buy into the WF and then they tell me all the Pros of it, which aren't hard to figure out, then I tell them that the WF is inferior and then they get all riled up and tell me more about the WF's, and I play naysayer and have fun with it.

Same goes here, but you will be hard-pressed to not agree with what I have said, you have to realize, just like Turbine should have, that the WF is NOT the best way to go, but that is my opinion, big deal, encourage arguement with sarcasm you get people attacking your character, who really cares, I'm still laughing and having fun.

The master race of the moment is dwarf! If you are playing any me lee class that isn't a dorf, you are gimped! If you are playing a wizard that isn't a dorf, you are missing beacoup hit points! Dorf dragonmarks are made just for rogues! Dorf battleclerics kick all manner of 2$$! Dorf! Dorf! Dorf uber alles!!!

Someday I might make a dwarf that I will keep, but there are none in my 8 slots. Dorfs? Bleh!!!

Warforged have a lot of character. They aren't an easy race to understand and play. I don't believe it's because they are lesser, but they are different enough to make it hard for fleshy sensibilities to grasp.

One problem I see with warforged is that they make excellent barbarians, and the barbarian class could be the most demanding of any class in DDO. I find playing my main, a rogue, to be much easier than trying to play a barb well!

I imagine that a completely warforged party would have many edges that another party wouldn't. Beyond the immunities, being incapped isn't dire, because you have no saves to make.

Even beyond any logic of what race is best for what class, there is the matter of style and taste. To this point, there is nothing I can say to convince all of the light beer drinkers that there is nothing finer than than a frosty pint of Guiness. That will just have to be your loss.

On another note, just another tidbit, when I first made my Cleric way way back in the day, he started of course with the 1 Lvl of Sorc. Some people did it for the mana, and some did it for the use of wands. I myself personally weighed the options and decided that as a Cleric it would be best to have all bases covered and the one lvl of Sorc to begin with was mainly because of the WF race.

I find it disheartening that in my Clerics lifetime, he has not gone through as many repair wands as he has just about any other wand in this game. Sad truth is that the main population gave up on WF's, and most everyone else who has WF's IMO tend to like the uniqueness of the situation, making characters unique to the game. I have a halfling Barb and he's a tribute to one of my good buds on this game in a funny sort of manner, and no Nirv, this is not ripping your build-I can understand what people do with toons and can figure out which people know what they are doing and which do not, but that rests solely on the player. Point is that I can't say the WF lived up to it's hype and that was because the consensus already saw the inadequecies and downsides to this race.

Although they have made some major changes to the race, it still is not accepted, and I have no issue against people who play WF as most do not nowadays. As a matter of fact I still carry 3 repair crit wands on my Cleric at all times and do what it takes to make any party successful, as I'm sure most other people do.

Fact remains simple though, I still believe there should be a Junkyard in Stormreach run by none other than good ole Phinneas, and that WF's may only enter, whether or not they leave is their ultimate choice. I just know if it ever happens, I will do my best to infiltrate it at all costs and reap whatever parts I can...

Any battlemage is one of the most viable/powerful characters, doesn't matter what race he is, This race was written off even before you probably started playing.

Aside from your malodramatics there's just a couple of things i wanna point out.

Firstly regarding general AC 'Tank' builds you cant go past Dwarf you are correct. With DAM and the enhancements any AC build will work out being superior as a dwarf. Thing is IMO the traditional 'Tank' is becoming redundant.

Now a couple of Pro WF points.

1. WF Barbarians - Sick. A good barbarian is FAR more useful than a little tank end game. Immunity to exhaustion, PA mods....sweetness for the kings of DPS.

2. WF Wizards - Sick. Arcanes rule the roost in DDO end game. That level of self healing is undeniable.

3. WF battlemages are THE best battlemage race. Im guesing you've never played one. Nothing compares to the self healing these guys can do. I have ALOT of experience in this field - and beleive me WF are the way to go when going battlemage styles.

4. And this is the most important point so listen up as ur about to get educated. Arcane casters dominate every single quest in the game. Period. WF are MY flavour of choice atm because of the way the game is progressing in a macro-environment sence. My guild short man's EVERYTHING. We rarely run with clerics. Put two and two togeather Anos. WF fighter type plus Arcane Dominance = little need for cleric. With sorcerors and wizards soloing, 2 manning near on every quest who do you think they would prefer as a little sidekick melee type? Someone they can scroll heal for 110+hp? Sorcs use restoration scrolls and res scrolls... little need for that healbot of yours (FYI if you have the nintendo skills try a battlecleric - healbots are superfluous to a good groups needs)

And also look around stormreach....you see dwarves and drow. I have one dwarf in my character roster and he is my battlecleric - he was rolled before Dwarves were the master race. I will continue to have only one dwarf because any jackass can roll a dwarf and make it a 'good' build. The formula really isnt that hard.

Im against flavour of the month because its inevitable something will change the status quo when the devs see that there is a predominance of one race.

Hopefully you do not think I for one consider the Dwarf a master race, lol, all I ever mentioned in regards to a dwarf was that a dwarf or human make a better fighter type than a WF.

As for the Arcane, nothing you have posted is of any new news, most of your topend players figured this out 2-4 weeks into the game. Clerics? Well there were many groups long ago running without clerics also, but here is the kicker, most people who short man without a cleric already have a cleric in their arsenal to fall back on if they feel the need to bring them.

As for educating me, whoa, lol, I solo on my Pally, I 2-4 man raids on my Cleric and Pally, do I really need an arcane in my group, lol, I've run groups with nothing but just Clerics, heck Tempest Elite with nothing but just Clerics ****ing around and having fun. You and most people glorify arcane coz of their solo capabilities, but cut and simple, it's mostly use of drab tactics anyways. You probably still find the need to make sure your CK hits the mob in PoP don't you. Give me a break, any group that tells you they would RATHER NOT run with a Cleric is about as idiotic as, well, as your statements.

WF Barbs, I can think of the best Barbs in the game and no offense, none off the top of my head are WF.

WF Wiz's, probably the most viable of all the WF classes, no offense, a Sorc is your damage dealer, a Wiz lacks what a Sorc is capable of, and a no brainer why most people would rather not have a WF sorc, and why most people would rather not have a WF Wiz.

Battlemages, I mentioned earlier are viable, but in all reality, I'll take a solid Tank or CLERIC over one anyday.

As far as a typical tank becoming redundant, I woud think if you look around Stormreach that is not the case, I can think of very many different builds with very many different strengths and weaknesses.

Anyone with a good sense of tactics in regards to questing in this game can figure out how to incorporate different methods to defeat any quest. Educate me then on why if the Arcane is so dominant, how can I accomplish my objectives without one, seems to me I couldn't be able to do that without an Arcane now could I...and it's Ana, but hey if you like throwing that s at the end and calling me Annus, well, that's about as original as me talking about the Junkyard again now isn't it? Which I hear may incorporate a recycle area for your ARCANE DOMINANCE lol, give it up, anyone who knows this game can tell you Arcane dominance is sufficient upon what's best for the group at that situation, nothing more enjoyable than seeing Arcane dominance getting beat senseless due to overconfidence.

You've obviously never run w/ babyeater then...

And 'tanks' are becoming redundant... you speak of many different builds but they all fall into the same 3 major catagories of melee

DPS anything taht wants to kill something before it can kill him/her

Intimitank forgoes major DPS for the ability to survive any battle and take agro off the "squishier" party members

Hybrid tanks these are usually found as trying to get the maximum DPS possible while maintaining a defense lower then the intimitanks but sufficient to block some attacks (this can be in the form of moderate AC or self casted blur/stoneskin of the battlemage etc...)

sure to any of these you can add evasion or in some cases even TWF, maybe UMD but the fact is that all melee will try to fulfill one of these 3 roles and well... 99% of additions like evasion and UMD have been done 100,000 times and it's really not "unique"

And by "typical tank" knowing Nick as I do he means the intimitank above ^^^

When I say "Tank" outside of the MMO world I mean a heavily armored assault vehicle... thats essentially what "tank" means (this includes intimitanks/hybrids but does not include DPS builds) in DDO for me and nick... there are only so many ways to do this effectively... only so many gimics you can add per build... and guess what its all been done before...

which he HAS played at high levels and so have I... 99% of high end intimitank builds while they may use different levels stat distributions feats all achieve (or fail to) the goal of taking agro and reducing overall damage taken...

In todays DDO no class is "needed" the fact that we use our "strategies" most effectively on casters (and of the numerous sorcerors in my guild I know of none that have CK in their spells... and haven't seen the wizards use it since the early days fallen shrine [well and the DQ back b4 the gnolls were red names]) and u use your "strategies" most effectively on a paly cleric combo is just trivial... you keep doing what your doing and we will do it how we do it

Tempest Elite? really thats a level 12 quest...

We've run tempest with groups of levels 5-7s... the fact that you can do it w/ clerics is really quite reassuring...

Anastasios,

You must not realize that you are talking to the guy (DarkRage) that claims to have invented the no-armor barbarian, and the arcane 'tank'. His posts kill me all the time with claims of innovation and discoveries that we all knew since the early days of the game.

Who are you anyway? Never even heard of you. Id love to see ur alts and ur guild. Same goes for annastasios. No armour barb that was me - arcane tank i couldnt work...to dificult to make viable. Arcane pychoe the battlemage that was me and there was nothing previously around like it.

Im chillin b4 a reaver raid right now but il respond better later.

You haven't heard of me. Ok. Let's move past that.
No armor barb was you? Lol.. Ok, then explain all the WF barbarians in beta that chose no body feats at creation. Or the fact that barbarians were hot-swapping robes in February '06. Wasn't that THEM?

Bah im starting to get wound up which is never a good thing - meh w/e as far as i knew back in the day and on the barb forums when darkrage was a little fella robes on a barb was completely new. If someone else was doin it great. They sure wernt on argonessan.

Connnor summed it up anas - im not gonna get drawn into a debate again - im just too tired right now. See this is how it would go - Everything you have said i would like to make points against and wed go back, too and fro and the reality is neither of us are gonna change our minds.

So why dont i do us all a favour - my toons are in my sig - anas and trash if you could oblige me by putting dwn urs(PM works fine if you dont wanna do it publically) that would be great so as i know who not too grp with. I dont hink our 'tactics' would mesh well.

To the OP sry bout the thread hijack(partially my fault) like i said some of us love our wf and would be happy to run with you guys. Maybe some wf raids or something.

You and most people glorify arcane coz of their solo capabilities, but cut and simple, it's mostly use of drab tactics anyways. You probably still find the need to make sure your CK hits the mob in PoP don't you.

lol don't ever accuse any self-respecting sorc of using cloudkill. I and many other guildie arcanes can solo just about any quest w/o the use of ck. frankly i think that tactic in PoP is lame and boring. And i don't know any clerics or fighter types who solo'd the stormreaver on elite. Arcane casters rule!

Haha, I'm getting all riled up reading this, I don't want to group with you, I can't understand why this is happening, lol.

I love how people 'claim' they were the first to accomplish it, oh better yet, rant and rave about it. Hey I was the first on Mabar to get a stupid looking Tower shield!!!! Yah it's true, or at least I think I was, lol, but know this, I SET THE TREND!!!

Trendsetter??? Must be, he's getting RILED UP. I'll take your word for it, heck, I'll take your guildies word for it also. Fact is, only one of you has a methodical thought process and can display his thoughts in an organized manner for me to understand, you on the other hand, well, maybe just allow him to talk for you, might save you the hassle of looking even more ______, go ahead and fill in the blank, I kept it as simple as possible, and yes, this is NOT A TRICK QUESTION.

I love Slayer's interpertation of the tanks, well as you may have disseminated the obvious, you obviously do not dwell into the intricacies which separate the tanks. So tell me, is there a difference into what a two weapon fighter, a two weapon ranger, and a two weapon rogue can bring to a group. Can you differentiate what a 2 handed Barb, a 2 handed Fighter, and a 2 handed Pally can possibly bring to the table? By your rational what you are saying is these 6 types of fighters are all the same, heck they all fall under the same three aspects, so why then are there 5 Classes listed in the afforementioned? Wait, they all fall under the 3, and each brings a different aspect to a group, oh wait, group mechanics, wait, tanks are all the same, they ALL HAVE THE SAME FEATS, oh my god, I'm sure you've seen a Dip build then, heck I'm sure you've seen a hide build, I'm sure you've seen a Bluff Rogue right? Wait, what are these enhancements, oh no, not more customization to stray away from the big 3 builds.

Sad thing is you've never probably seen them all work together, I bet you've probably never been in a group with 3 people Dipping have you, lol. Oh wait, nevermind, I play the same Tank as other tanks do, lol, you know how many people add tricks into their rep that separates their style of gameplay. Oh wait, I only rely on my Pally and my Cleric to make my strategies work, lol, I rely on GROUP strategy, I don't build my toons to cover one base, I cover all bases so when my toons are in group they aren't limited by others who are one sided.

As for the Tempest reference, read back, I'm sure it's really hard to get 5-7's through Tempest, as a matter of fact I think it's almost impossible, oh wait I was the first one to do it, lol, the fact that it can be accomplished with 12 clerics on Elite was to prove that Arcane Dominance has no bearing or meaning in regards TO HAVING TO HAVE AN ARCANE IN THE GROUP-read the post for yourself, maybe you'll understand the point the second or third time around, although I'm guessing it might take you about 6 or 7 times to actually comprehend. But of course your glorification of having only 5-7's running through Tempest makes me wonder just how uber you are, I mean I know of a lot of uber people and the fact is they do not have to tell anyone of their accomplishments to prove a thing to anyone else, they just go about their business.

As for my sigs, RAGE!!!!!, look at my Forum Handle, shouldn't be hard to figure out which toons are mine. As for my guilds, I've been through a few, and I've left when I've decided too. Ask any of the people I've been guilded with, ask them if I'm on the straight and narrow, ask them if I take gameplay to a different level, ask them if I know *** I'm talking about, even ask them if I'm a prick at times, I'm sure they'll answer Yes to all of the above. As for not wanting to group with me, wow, thanx for sharing that info, I really wasn't too worried about it, but thanx for reassuring me, I appreciate that.
Hopefully you will do one better and not try to redeem yourself in this thread, you would be doing me a favor, just go to sleep and forget all about it.

Howdy to All in Tinted Faces, congrats on having RAGE@@!@#$I%U^#@

BTW, I have grouped with Ghoste before, although I cannot apologize for my typing, as I could have easily avoided this whole scenario, I just can't help myself, I'm having a bit too much fun here, and if you're interested in joining the MITHRAL HAND, send Ghoste a PM in game or on these forums. They are opening their ranks to WF CLERICS and would appreciate some interest in this regard.

I'll right a wrong every now and then, heck I'm beginning to forget all about the junkyard, but I can't wrong a right-the show must go on, I can't stop at this point for the masses.

And the retort,
Self promotion was induced by someone else who made a statement which I expanded on, obviously it touched a nerve for you to resort the namecalling and the ever popular trying to guess my age or demeanor.

I churn through guilds lol, I've been active in 3 ever since inception of this game. My group fighting strategy works for everyone and is not boring and lame, it uses the advantages of the system and incorporates, you guessed it, a group effort. I run solo alot by choice to challenge myself, but ask those whom I have grouped with and I'm sure they'll tell how I rank on their list.

Slayer's analysis is weak considering he put some time into it, must have played WoW a bit too much to come to his conclusion, thinking those mechanics hold true here in DDO, his post not mine, and I assume that those who assume know what they are talking about take into account the obvious, things that are too obvious for you to comprehend. That's why you still are on the offensive, but I've been on the defensive and offensive, you cred is low and from what I've read from others here that is justifiable.

Lol, I'm not bored, I actually can say I am quite content at the moment, I'm not the one saying awesome nor am I the one using Nick at Nite references in my posts, think about it......

Anastasios,

You would have had a great time picking on me way back before the WF got all their PnP ugrades. The reason I stuck to wf so stubbornly was specifically because of all the hate they were getting.

Not sure how much sense that makes, but there you go.

I would have picked on you, but I believe you wouldn't have minded especially in voicechat, and I'd still pick on your toon to present day anyways even with the upgrades based on GP. Makes all the sense in the world to me, glad to see you enjoying your build.

Khestral

First off, the only Cleric to solo a reaver cheated. End of that story.

Second off - Ghoste, that sounds like a fun guild, and I applaud you on finding something that entertains you other than coming into a thread and making it an all out "attack on anyone that voices an opposite opinion from yours" witch hunt.

Thrid - TF brothers... don't try to talk to this idiot, he obviously doesn't have the capacity for out of the box thinking. He must live his life with his opinion that he formed way back in the beginning of the game which was then validated by his two imaginary friends as he played in his momma's basement and gleefully waited for the day someone would talk about WF in a positive manner so he could dust off his long planned out tirade and use it against them.

Finally, Ana - You might be having fun sir, stirring up dramatics and lauding yourself about being the only intelligent sounding individual that posts on the forums, you might be basking in accolades that only you seem to be lavishing on yourself, and you might even think you have accomplished the coupe de gras by pulling Argo people out of their shells and getting "All of TF's arcane to post" but in actuality all you did was make yourself look like a babbling idiot. There's a presidential election coming up in a few years, with credentials like that, I'm sure you'll be a supurb candidate seeing as they base their arguments off of faulty logic as well.

As for a WF cleric - it'd be a fun challenge, and I've seen several pull it off very well. Part of the fun of D&D in general has always been finding innovative ways to excel at which ever class you choose with whichever race you choose. When people tell me that race can't do this... I just have to go roll one and prove them stupid.

Guess I was saved that trouble in this case... since there is no doubt.

Ok now lets look at some of the things you have said.

This race was written off even before you probably started playing....about as much as my feelings were hurt when I found out that the WF is garbage...

Hmmm but i thought you said WF didnt suck...Are you bipolar? I thought your arguments were logical?

...he just was not as good as a dwarf or human could be, and if you look at it across the board with other classes, they just don't cut the superior builds....because it is an inferior race.

Your right The original thread was about WF. YOU brought the Dwarves and Humans into the equation when you began to rubbish all WF everywhere.

My cred is low? I think one person tried to rubbish me and ya might wanna take a look at how inspiring your ally is. Trashman...

I recently reactivated my account after a 9-10 month break. Some people told me that +2 tomes were bound now and only dropping unbound on certain celebration weekends or some such, so I dug in the bank and figured I'd see if I could work out some new gear for some old tomes.

9-10 month break Hell he must know EVERYTHING. 9-10 months ago was a completely different ballgame. Glad ur using such valid sources for your estimation on my 'cred'.Nick at nite? What is that? Im not american so maybe there must be some translation issues changing it to New Zealand Speak.

Seriously though, how bored can you be, oh wait, as bored as I am.

Ur not bored or you are bored? I dont get it do wf suck or do they not suck??You have me so confused... id say theres a very good chance you have yourself confused.

You are in fact a babbling idiot - of all the posts in this thread id approximate you have posted at least a third and probably more than everyone else when you look at size. Concise my a$$. The point system you used when addressing taldroc...so so childish.

Your constant frantic replies, rants, tantrums and ego stroking makes me seriously wonder about your mental stability and grip. You say im only on the offensive? I dont need to constantly tell everyone how my style of play is amazing and declaring that anyone who has played for you would vouch for me. Thats not my style. Too egotistical.

And you're last couple of posts and the tack on 'Ghoste is now accepting clerics' is a feeble attempt at redeeming urself since you clearly have realised that ur way out of line. You come into a thread, denounce all WF, then try to tack on a disclaimer as if this thread hijack was no fault of yours. LMAO. Again you are ridiculous.

I suggest you go away quietly - your 'cred' as you like to say will only get worse - if you dont beleive me wait and see. Heres an idea- get a clue, figure out how to interact on a social level and think before you speak.

To Khestral- Who cares who solo'd the reaver, a TF'r was the one who brought this up, and what does a cleric having to cheat to accomplish it have to do with anything, anyone who solo's the reaver cheats. Off to a good start already. Moving on to the witch hunt, sorry Ghoste this is a public forum last I checked, of course I don't see the bonfire yet, maybe I should be gathering wood at this point? As for the attack on my character, I'll leave that alone, I got all the info I needed from looking at your Handle info. In regards to your statement about post #43, I believe they call that insight.

To Cayrie- Thank you for keeping it to the point.

To Nick- It's ok, lower yourself to my standards, starting trends you're already copying, no worries Zealander, and come to think of it, I have grouped with a Zealander already, if so, that's all I remember about you from grouping with you, but let me digress, I'm sure there are others.

Point 1, I never said WF sucked, garbage yes, sucked no.

Point 2, That is what is called an opinion, ask me if one of my toons is a dwarf or human fighter, the answer is no, someone else expanded on that already and it wasn't me

Point 3, You prove a point of course it is against you, now think hard, he's been gone 9-10 months and he remembers about this game from back then when all these ideas were already done by others whereas you claimed you were the one. Now talk to me more about cred.

Point 4, yeah bored last night until you came around, now it's all fun and games and you have brought friends I see...your criticism bears no meaning to me, it just humors me, as for for posting as much as I have done, simple enough, why wouldn't I defend myself, whether or not you understand this, I think I have had every right to offer my views in regards to what has been said here. If I type a bit more, well, that would be my nature to express myself. As for the childish aspect of my post to Taldrok, give it up, just read Taldrok's post some more, actually you might want to reread some of your posts also some more.

Ego stroking, whoa, let's not even go there, if I already know where I stand with others then that makes me Egotistical, okay just go back to post #35, and here's a pat on your back, I'm very proud of ya.

As for the bottom comments in regards to THE MITHRAL HAND, why not, at least a mention of what he wanted, I see no wrong in that, as a matter of fact if you are analyzing that, then you really are reaching. Cred, like I really care about what you think of my cred, you obviously seem to be concerned with yours though, you're still here and you brought some friends, I suggest you TF'rs go away quietly, take a hint from Cayrie, she's got the right idea, oh and I would think it's safe to say maybe you, Khestral, and Taldrok should heed your own ending words.

To Ramses- Thanx for taking the time to read my bio, not sure if you're being sarcastic about a good read, but if so, no worries.

My cred is low? I think one person tried to rubbish me and ya might wanna take a look at how inspiring your ally is. Trashman...

So now you think you can challenge my knowledge? You and your guild can pipe in all you want, it will not change the fact that you, in all your ego-maniacal ways, are the one that makes bogus claims. Noone needs to play this game everyday to see that. Nick the Chia-pet invented barbarians!!! He invented having a 8 BAB character swing a greataxe in a firewall!! Everyone bow to him!! LOL.. You are quite silly, and it seems you will be crying soon if I don't leave you alone.

Don't attack a person's character for pointing out a simple truth that can't be denied - You made claims that just aren't true. I pointed that out. Don't hate, correct yourself and save face. (tinted or not)

That's the funniest thing in this whole thread. Took a minute to talk to yourself there Nick? That is YOUR legacy - telling everyone how great YOU are. It's a simple fact that is documented throughout these forums. LOL

Now you're just upset and can't think clearly. Take some time, soul-search and come back when your not putting your foot in your mouth.

Glad I lost my credibility to mr Bi-Polar.

I agree with Khes. No one needs waste time responding to such a narrow-sighted person, particularly the Faces.

Isn't it more narrow-sighted to call one narrow-sighted without debating their opinions? Just a thought

Could we bring this back to the point of the original post? Stop with the 'My epeen is bigger than your epeen' posts that this post has been filled with.

Back to the original point, once I unlock 32 point builds I'll make a warforged cleric of some sort. Unlocking the 32 point builds will take awhile though, I'm nowhere near it.

Khestral
08-28-2007, 01:40 PM
I'd say forgo the Charisma route and go for a battlecleric build. Max emphasis on Wisdom, Strength and Con - or you could add in charisma and take a sorc lvl, get the spell point benefit and the ability to repair yourself in a pinch.

Just have to decide if you are going to design the guy solely to roll with other WFs or are you going to be grouping with the meatsacks too.

sorry Ghoste this is a public forum last I checked
I never asked you to stop posting.

One suggestion though, logic is not now, nor has it ever been, nor will it ever be something you can ram down other people's throat. Seems to me others are trying to do that to you, and you are also reciprocating. I dont think anyone's going to accomplish their goal, and I'm already laughing at the thought of someone responding to this with something along the lines of "ya I'm so logical, my logic is way beyond everyone else's, guess I should give up cuz they'll never get it..." ya, ya, sure Mr Spock.

Ramses, appreciate the compliment, thank you.

Proof Positive??? So Mr Jan 2007 posts about Mar 2006, and Mr Jul 2006 laughs about Mar 2006 and declares- AWESOME.

/emote scratches head wondering did anyone else notice this and did anyone else actually find it funny enough to use LMAO and then call it awesome.

Guess I could use an explanation, no not you RAGE!@#!@$@)(%^%), maybe Mhyk can tell us what happened, I'd love to hear about what happened to your Founder tag, oh, and really, come on, that was pretty bad, bit more effort next time.

Sorry, admittedly not as funny as this response:

Thanks for letting me know, I'll be sure to get back to them as soon as possible.

That's gold!

Actually, sure, since you asked.
I played this game since beta, got a 2nd account later on for my mules (I'm a pack rat). I left the game b/c I thought I wasn't going to be able to play at all anymore (work related stuff). Gave away all my stuff on my account and deleted my guys, cancelled my account (people said I shouldn't, I didn't listen). Never did w/ my mule account. When it turned out I could play again (only like a month or 2 after I left), I just played my mule account, since I had items left to twink my guys, and have used that account forum name since then, since all my characters are some version of the name Mhykke, or Mhykelle (and I like for people to know which guys I'm on, I'm not embarrassed to share my toons names).

If you don't believe me, come to Argonnessen and look at the fountain. You'll see my old sorcerer on there. Still don't believe me? Ask our guild leader. I was about the 4th member of a founding guild on Argo. Heck, maybe there's still people around not from my guild who remember grouping w/ a Markas Darkeyes.

Any other questions about my biography and I'll be glad to answer. My favorite color is green, I like gambling, and sometimes, well, I admit it, I feel just a little vulnerable.....but then, don't we all? :D

bump up that post count there trash.

And if you got anything out of my handle Anas it'd be that I run with a great group of people that know that the game is about fun.

Bump incoming....Your handle, not your sig, think some more about my comment, just think back to your handle, and as for the group of people you group with, I can say three (including yourself) are not great, you have already proved that to me here in this thread. As for the rest of the TF'rs, including some of the ones who have posted here, they just may be a great group of people, I hope they are.

Shadowbliz, if anything-especially if you are planning on rolling with other wf's, you should take your first lvl as Sorc, then max out 13 Cler. Be sure to max out your Wis, coz you can still be crowd control spec'd and have a 30 Wis. The one level of Sorc gives you any wand in the game-mostly for your repairs. You don't necesarily need the 32 pt for this, and if you decide to do so, I would recommend Spell Pen, and GSP, MT, Extend, and Imp MT as your feats. Remember, this is pretty much a support build, if you think you would enjoy playing in that respect then give it a whirl, just throw the rest of your points mostly into Con. As for the battlecleric, I'm sure you can find other posts on the forums that dwell into that, always been a great divide about the Battlecleric, my opinion is that a cleric should be the backbone of the party, if you can accomplish keeping the party standing tall, then you've done your job, and a CC cleric is the build to do that better than a battlecleric.

Mhykke-sux you cancelled and lost it, but hey life goes on, and thanx for the extra information, I can say I like gambling too, good to know. My handle is my main's name, the rest of my toons use the handle as my surname, so if you think I was emabarassed about my toons well that is not the case, just requires a bit of hindsight. Other than that, I can't say I ever doubted you being someone who played this game back since the early days, although I did find it funny to post what you did with the Jan 2007 as your join date.

Ghoste-I've read some of your posts in other threads, I figured you could careless, thanx for the suggestion though which makes a lot of sense, although arguement requires a bit of bearing, I hope you understand.

Wow... so I was right on how you find out facts, Anas... you make them up.

My handle, my name - Khestral. Yes, that is what I am talking about. Go in game, ask people about any of my alts and people that run with me usually are very fun people.

You might need some help in remembering how to log in, so I'll help. You click on the icon that usually says Dungeons and Dragons - Stormreach. Choose a server - probably not Argo since well... you obviously can't get a group there... and then load into the game. Once in /death and do us all a big favor.

Rameses
08-29-2007, 10:52 AM
Anas, my alts are in no particular order.... Rameses, Ramz, Elon and god forbid a damn bard named Nikke.

Anytime you need a group look me up, I'd be very interested in running with you. *Forum Politics aside.* Look me up, I am always in game as 90% of the server might be able to a test to. Though I do run anon.

I am, Rameses!

Thanks for the advice. While I realize that I don't necessarily need the 32 point build for a character like this, I would feel a little more comfortable if I could bring my wisdom up high, and still have a decent constitution and charisma. I may play around with 28 points for a bit since Kroshgar is nowhere near getting 32 point builds yet, I'll need a few weeks of favor runs more than likely.

I agree he is probably one of those ppl that still block doors and firewalls....cause he cant think of any other way to get things done

And since this has already been necro'ed. Created Ignot, my wf Battlecleric for Mithril Hand. He is a blast, especially when I am not having to take the main healer role, but meh that is part of the package.

Seriously not seeing many negatives and my spells (sound burst and command at this point 8/1 Cleric/pally) are landing fairly regularly.

Same with Khesbot. She can smack with the best of the tanks when I have Lord of the Blades on, and throwing out command and soundburst - occasionally hold person, and the fighting just rocks...

Just have to remember when running SC not to toss out soundburst when the bard fascinates!

Aye that's the truth, always ask the bard in the group if they use fascinate (some don't do it too much cause the melees like to smack everything), so I can adjust my tactics accordingly. I love the lord of the blades enhancement, tensers (basically) at lv 6, lv 7 in my case:)
