Hi folks,

I've seen docs on the Wiki and on TenTonHammer that suggest that (for spells at least) 1d6 is actually calculated as 1d3+3 (rather than 1-6), and 1d8 is 1d4+4 (rather than 1-8). This seems a bit weird.
1) Does anyone know if this is correct and if so, how it was tested?
2) Is weapon damage calculated the same way?

Cheers,

1) Yes, tested with min dmg numbers and extreme iteration
2) No

Cool, cheers Ekental. So spells can only do average or better damage? Wow, thats pretty cool. Explains a few things.

Yes, most damage (or heal) spells actually do more damage than you could expect. There could be exceptions though, as I don't believe all spells have been thoroughly tested. Btw for heal spells for instance, 1d8 is actually 1d6 + 2, not 1d4 + 4.

Thanks tihocan. Do you know what the rationale for the different ranges is? Seems kinda weird! :)

If anyone wants to helpand test spells, contact me by pm, I'd really like to get that cleared. I don't have time to test it myself, and my only cster is a lv 5 sorcerer. However, anyone wanting to test them will have my total support and help.

The funny part is that Devs never acknowledged this.
