It seems to me that one of the MAJOR complaints folks have about the game is loot balancing between classes. It seems to me that one thing that might make caster loot that much more palatable are scrolls for spells that can not be purchased or taken at level advancement.

Maybe, and this is just a thought, as you work to include new spells make some/many of them like this. So they *only* drop. The Bigby's spells and teh Prismatic spells would be a nice place to start. Mass resistance, Mass hero, etc. Nothing critical or core, but different things.

Just a thought.

While I can appreciate the sentiment, I still would rather get "real" loot than scrolls or mnemonic potions.

Scrolls, even higher level ones, make me feel like I just opened a box with a bit of litter in the bottom. Especially if the chest usually yields 50,000 GP or higher items, and all I got was a couple scrolls and a few coins. The potions are handy but let's face it, they're single shot and not nearly as valuable as a weapon or armor that you can use for the rest of the character's existence. (and beyond)

The selection of spells in the game does need to increase, I'll agree to that, but I'm already tired of seeing scrolls as loot so very often.

An uber spell as a raid loot would be pretty nifty. Especially if it were worked somehow so that Sorcerers and Bards had some way of "inscribing" it as well. A bit of a twist on the OPs original version though.
