I have it on my 11fighter/3pal, so I still have plenty of leftover feats for weapon spec/ grtr weapon focus chain, dodge, khopesh, powatk and one toughness (just to access toughness enhancements)and I love it.
5 full heals at 196 each with the blue dragonplate on and the pally positive heal enhancement for 1 point. CSW are 40-50's, CLW 10-20. Independent timer of my 2 65 pt Lay on hands. A perfect compliment for the halfy AC/Saves survival tank build....not that I've even been using my original build, with the current game its easier to tear through everything with a 2h and power attack.

Currently Ive got 54AC with tower shield no stance/buffs, 28 STR, 306 HP, great saves from divine grace/pally aura, the only thing I wish I had done differently was take 12 ftr/2 pal so I could access grtr weapon spec, but it can wait for lvl cap I guess.

Anyone else using the halfy dragonmarks? Anyone got any sick build ideas to have with these? Im thinking about a TWF now.

I am working on something very similar, but with evasion, UMD, etc. So, right now, I'm looking at F12 Rge2 but may change as I think I may want to fit Pally in for slightly better saves.

My only problem thus far has been how to get my Intimidate up as 3 of your 5 regular feats are used for DMs and you need 1 for toughness. So, my last feat would either be Bullheaded or SF: Intimidate. Ultimately, sounds like we're going to be pretty close.

With a GH buff and wearing a +10 intimidate item, I almost NEVER fail an intimidate, even on elite level 14 quests (note: my cha is 6). Burning a feat on this skill would be completely unnecessary, in my experience. Especially when you consider that there are +15 intimidate items available, and I'm only using a +10 for end-game content.

Yeah with that build you wouldn't be sacrificing much for the plus to saves, basically one feat and access to some fighter enhacements, and it's an integral part of your build. With a starting CHA of 12 (I prefer 10 though) you can hit 20 (+6 item, Pally CHA enhance 1, +1 tome) for a +5 to saves, the +3 enhancement for halfy, the +1 pally aura, the +1 racial, and you've got a huge headstart over other races. Remember you will be in light armor as well if you really want the evasion, and I dont think fighter saves alone are high enough at high levels for evasion to save you.
I wouldnt worry about intimidate I put some ranks into it (wish I hadnt bothered) but anyway it's been a situational thing...nice but I rarely think to use it asI pull aggro faster by zerging in with a 2 hander and powatk.

Just for fun I'm trying them out on my Pal14. I don't have a devotion item yet (I don't play him often), but with 2 levels of the Life enhancement they are in the 160s. 4 lay on hands for 200+, and 5 heals for 160+, and all those CSW and CLW are kinda fun. I do have enough shards saved up to bail on them though if I get tired of them. :P

I tore up Wiz King undead end bosses before they knew what hit them :P

Yeah man, take your devotion pally enhancements to up the heal power. I love how the LOH and Heals timers are separate you can really rattle off some positive damage. Yeah its kind of pricey 3 feats of a pallys 5, maybe not so bad depending on your play style though

Seriously bro? My Delani build has maxed intim, uses GH, but my item is only +5 ( I use a resistance 4 cloak, but the helm is Wis +4/intim +5, and together they really help with will saves ). So with GH, my intim is 26, and I can only get it to hit about less than half of the time in GH because of the negs I get for being a halfling vs most of the mobs there ( -4 for human-sized, -8 for large, and -12 for giant ). Will an extra +5 really make that much difference?

As with all skills, there is a threshold to cross, and once you do, you simply do not fail. For intimidate, that seems to be around 29 on a dwarf.

Note that I'm not claiming I land every intim on every mob, but it's a solid 95% or more.

My dorf barb has max ranks, -2 CHA "bonus", +4 from GH, +10 item. That's 29, I think.

My Halfling Paladin ends up with about a 39 Intimidate as well (17 Ranks, +7 Charisma, +4 Greater Heroism, +11 Item) which gets reduced depending on the size, but I rarely fail on Intimidate checks. I'd say somewhere around a 30 (after modifiers)means that you Intimidate most of the time.

got my halfling ranger build. Up to greater mark, with empowered healing, improved crit:ranged, precision, all the ranger given feats, and 34 dex with the +6 dex boots I already have (36 dex with a +3 tome).
This character will be mostly ranged, but can play healer for a little bit if needed.

I like it Oberon, I wouldnt worry about empower healing or maximize feat, you can throw on a super potency item and get a nice bonus just as fast as activating the metamagic...maybe consider weapon finesse your melee to hit will skyrocket.

meh, I decided to swap out precision for finesse and crit:ranged for crit:puncturing and turn this into a 2wf build, since I already have my ranged fighter. See you on Ghall Twerrp :)

2 Quests since I don't know anyone personally who has a halfling Mark of Healing Build....

1. Can Marks be used in Anti-Magic aka in presence of Beholders?
2. Can Mark be interupted or u need to make a concentration check?

Current Build I'm working on

Fighter Levels for Feats, Armor Mastery, and Strength Enhancement
Pally for LOH, Saves, and Access to Empowered Healing
Rogue for Skills and Evasion

Alot of This Build is for Long Term Planning... Assuming to get +3 tomes from Reaver and Mod 5 Raid +6 stat Items for all stats etc...

My Philosophy is build for the future vs. what u have on hand :)

Also I plan to take the Halfling Luck + Will Save Line when Enhancement Changes go in...

Hey Sadus
1. Can Marks be used in Anti-Magic aka in presence of Beholders?
2. Can Mark be interupted or u need to make a concentration check?

1.Ive never healed around beholders like in the beholder/flayer room, typically you are alive or dead not much in between and needing to replace hp when fighting these guys..but I would bet you can use them just fine.

2. I have never been interrupted unless it was by lag issues in which case I didnt get charged for the heal. The casting is instant on all of the marks with a longer cooldown for heal.

Good luck with your build I have played around with similar ideas a lot...Dont see the need for 4 pally, 3 gets you fearless/disease free is nice and the bulwarkin/save aura up to +2 (I hate that they nerfed this down from +2 to start!) and the 4th of rogue is eh, well the uncanny dodge is negligible remember you can use fighters AC boost or just stick with your already incredible AC...the extra skill points will be nice for UMD/Balance/Intimidate, so there is a trade off there calculate the end BAB and enhancements available and consider that...also there is no need to rely on Wounding of pucturing or treason dont assume you will be just a 2nd hitter this build has potential to be 1st hitter if you go slashing damage.

All in all no doubt this guy will be the last man standing using res rings or even popping raise dead scrolls on many a day. Great build.

Also which is better for your dragonmark heals empower healing or maximize? I believe they both work but dont have a feat to buy one I just use super-pot 6 item.

You need the 4th level of pally to get access to Empowered Healing :) Since one requirement is that you have to be able to cast spells.

If u don't mind and your toons are capped maybe you could just run into invaders to the first group of beholders and see if you can pop off a Dragon Mark :) Would be a simple way to find out and would help me out quite a bit in my grand vision of the build :)

Main reason I'm going to be using W/P is just because I don't have a toon that does... I've already got 3 very well equipped melee toons... that use slash weapons... so I wanted to do something different.. if you've never had a w/p rapier you might change your opinion :) A lot of mobs can be killed in a tenth the time with w/p than raw DPS :) so add some good strength , bloodstone, etc... and then they really go down fast :)

Yeah it works with beholders I tested it, I also noticed a dev saying it will work with the Quell effect in the new mod that nerfs other magic. I'll give W of P a try just as soon as I get a good deal on one.
I have 3 of pally and I take an enhancement that gives +10% on healing I believe its called Paladin Devotion, also I have a super dev 7 bow, with all that the heals dont really need a feat..It does 224 I think and I only have 311 hp, no greater false life item on. With the halfling saves coming back your saves are gonna be through the roof too.

im making a halfling AC/saves/healing/evasion/UMD/rogueing build lol

Figuring AC in the 50s

10 base
10 armor
7 dex
7 shield
5 protection
1 size
2 pally
3 barkskin
2 choasguard
___________
47 with basic items, 50 with titan ring, 55 with CE up

UMD mid 30s

17 ranks
5 cha
3 item
4 GH
3 feat
_______
32, could hit 37 probably

2 LoH, the full complement of dragonmarks, and UMD means great healing capability.

I like it.

I built a halfling cleric specifically to use the clickie heal abilities. Undying sovereignty/5 heal clicks/7cure/9cures/+12 divine healing. The marks can't be interrupted and work when feebleminded. Divine healing can be used through barriers same as paladin lay on hands. What I found most interesting with the halfling cleric is how little the character has to rely on wands and or scrolls. The larger goal of building a healing cleric that wasn't a money pit worked out very well.

Yeah I thought about that...you would have more mana to burn on offensive spells...but not the feats to make those spells kick-ass..you definitely pick up a lot of heal-power though! I can't wait for maximize when I take my 4th level of pally.

I have a 14 Halfling Paladin I built to be a healing Pally. His 2 skill points went into Heal and Diplo. Greater Dragon Marks and Empower Healing. I maxed out the enhancements for the dragonmarks and LOH. Also the Undying Sov. There have been quite a few times where I have been a wand whipping healer (with all my clickies) or helped the OOM cleric by healing in the middle of combat. He has almost surpassed my main as my favorite character to play...
Basically, Halflings rule.

Interesting thread.

A few weeks back I read about a halfling bard 1/wizard 13 who tried to emulate the MysticTheurge PrC using wands, scrolls, and halfling dragonmarks. It got me to thinking ...

I rolled up (and am slowly leveling) 2 halflings (lost my mule slots!). First a bard 1/wizard 13 as described above. Second, a bard 1/sorc 13 which will be tough because of lack of feats but I wanna try it.

I'm not very far along on any of them, but it was interesting to see this thread because I seriously think that halflings are underrated at the moment.

Got mine up to level 12 right now. 32 point build. Ranger11/Rogue1. Took the rogue level first, of course. And the least mark. Was easily able to solo up to level 3. Grabbed bastard sword for melee oomph and flava at level 3. Levels 6 and 9 finished off the dragon marks. Just got Empower Healing at level 12. Also just found an Improved Potency VI item. Have my enhancements totally full on dragon marks, and full on ranger devotion. I'm popping my heals for 306 HP each! Being able to do any trapsmithing, and pretty much being able to take the place of a cleric allows me to form a new group and take anybody, first come first served. UMD is maxed so I've been able to use the warforged-only vorpal longsword and paralyzing long bow. Got his ass handed to him by a Duergar Champion in BAM, so not a great toe to toe melee. But in the same night did Chains of Flame sans cleric. Very powerful character, very fun to play...

Hello,

I haven't ever posted on the forums before, as most needs are always covered by those who like to talk alot. ;) However even small posts can give others ideals for things they might be looking for, so here it goes.

This is a 28 point multi-class build that uses a few tomes, but doesn't have too if you don't have access to these. The tomes can just round out some stats, and free up some enhancement points. If you have access to a 32 point build feel free to increase the stats you would like higher. Again this is just a template using the halfing build, it can work with any race. Each race gives it's own advantage to some aspect of the build. (i.e. Halfling better healing, Human better intimidate / more skill points, Dwarf more Hp's / better DR...etc ..etc)

11 Cleric / 3 Pally / 2 Fighter

Stats:

Str: 12 (+1 ftr / +4 levels / +1 tome / +6 item)
Int: 13 (+1 tome - 1st level for more skill points, though not needed)
Wis: 12 (+2 cleric / +4-6 item / +2 favor tome if aquired)
Dex: 10 (+2 halfing / +4-6 item / or +1 half / +1 tome / + item - frees up 4 enhancement points)
Con: 11 (+1 tome / + 4-6 item)
Cha: 16 (+2 cleric / + 4-6 item or +1 tome / + 1 cleric / +item - frees up 4 enhancement points)

Modified Stats:

Str: 24 (23 with no tome)
Int: 14 (13 with no tome)
Wis: 22 (18 with no tome or +6 item)
Dex: 18 (16 with no +6 item)
Con: 18 (16 with +5 item)
Cha: 24 (22 with no +6 item)

Again if you are a min/maxer feel free to change anything you want..this is more for the casual gamer who can get access to some good gear but not all the uber gear.

Next we will go to the saves:

Base: +7 / +3 / +7 Cleric
+3 / +1 / +1 Pally
+3 / +0 / +0 Ftr
+3 / +3 / +4 stats(went with lower ones)
+2 / +2 / +2 Pally Aura
+1 / +1 / +1 Halfling
+6 / +6 / +6 Divine Grace (lower cha)
+0 / +2 / +0 Halfling saves(enhancement)
+4 / +4 / +4 Resist item
+2 / +2 / +2 Heroism buff(morale bonus)
+2 / +2 / +2 Recitation(luck bonus)

+33 / +26 / +29 (on average with gear attainable easily)

+ 2 more Greater Heroism
+ 2 more better aura
+ 1 more better resist
+ 2 / + 2 / + 3 better stats

+40 / +33 / +37

Next will check out AC:

10 Base
13 +5 fullplate
7 +5 lg shield (if mith tower add 2)
1 Dex (3 if mithral plate)
1 halfling
5 Combat Exp
2 Pally Aura
2 Chaosguard
5 protection (not that hard to get these days)
3 barkskin(potion)
2 Recitation (self cast)
1 Haste (potion / caster)
1 Parry Wep (Insight bonus)
2 if blocking

53 / 55 blocking (easily attainable)

2 better pally aura
2 better barkskin
2 Mithral Tower shield
2 Mithral Fullplate
3 Chatter Ring (dodge bonus)
1 Dodge Feat

65 / 67 ( harder to get / though even a casual player can get some off this)

Next will be HP:

20 Heroic
20 Ftr
30 Pally
88 Cleric
10 Draconic
48 Con(64 w/18con)
18 (Aidspell)
?? (Falselife item if equipped - we will use 20)
18 (Toughness feat if taken)

234 / ~288 if you like alot of HP

Next is Intimidate:

19 base
6 Cha (7 if CHA higher)
2 Luck(recitation or item)
1 Ftr
15 Item
3 SF:Intim(if taken at 15th)
4 Greater Hero

50 total / 47 no SF: Intim (51 / 48 for better CHA)

Next is to hit:

+13 Base
+7 Str
+1 Halfling
+3 Divine Favor (self cast)
+4 Wep / Extra dam
+1 Enhancement (longswords)
+3 Divine Power (self cast)
+2 Recitation (self cast)
+1 haste (potion or caster)

+35 total
-2 towershield

+33 total

Here is the Feats:

1st: Least Mark
3rd: Empower Healing or Maximize
6th: Lesser Mark
9th: Greater Mark
12th: Empower Healing or Maximize
15th: SF: Intimidate or Toughness

Ftr feat: Combat Expertise
Ftr feat: Improved Crit (slashing)

Level Breakdown:

Pali / Pali / Cleric / Cleric / Cleric / Ftr / Pali / Cleric / Cleric / Ftr / Cleric the rest

Here are the Skills:

Intimidate to the Max level / I went with UMD, Jump and Balance(the latter to to get a positive number with a few points in each)

UMd Breakdown:

9 Base
6 Cha(or 7 if you have better stats)
2 Luck (Recitation or Item)
4 Greater Heroism
3 Golden Cartouche

24 (25 for higher CHA)

This will let you use alot of racially restricted gear as well as some arcane items and scrolls. Great for out of combat use and ok for in combat use as you probly wont be using the cartouche at that time.

Next we go to Enhancements: (Can switch these any way you like as equipment or tomes you get while leveling)

Ideally this what I would like with the gear I got and tomes used:

Extra Dragonmark IV / Ftr Intimidate I / Divine Healing III / Follower of the Soverign Host / Cleric Life Magic IV / Halfling LUck II(Reflex)
Energy of the Zealot III / Halfling Dex I(+1 tome used) / Cleric CHA I(+1 tome used) / Paladin Aura of Bulwark I / Paladin Aura of Resist I
Ftr Str I / Cleric Wisdom II / Lay on Hands I

This will leave you with 4 points still left over for whatever or if you didnt have tomes to get + 2 stat bonus still in one stat.

In conclusion I have been playing this build and am currently level 10. It has provided great versitility and the healing power has been great so far. It's nice to be able to give others some buffs and I have been able to take advantage of the UMD at this level also. My hitpoints haven't been a problem so far even on elite dungeons I have been on. I do have some misses on intimidating giants, though I didn't have a max intimidate item for my level. Mind you I still can Intimidate them though. I feel this build will only get better as the cleric levels go up now and being able to raise your healer of whoever is nice as well. Also you will be able to use any level 7 scroll without failure and level 8 scrolls with minor failure(10% I think). With a 24 UMD Displacement scrolls or other Arcane items and such may be useful as well, even though the duration will be short.

I thank all the other posts for helping me think of something that may be useful to someone. Also this build will work as a Halfling Ftr / Magic-user if you either went Str build or Dex based. The only thing that changes is your gear somewhat. Split is 11 Wizard / 3 Pally / 2 Ftr, this works great with halfling dragon marks as the wizard levels get you 3 Metamagic feats to go with the ones you got already. I will post it when I have completly written it down.

stupid question but how do you get dragonmarks?

In the harbor by the mailbox and Auction house guy...there is a man stading there that will give you a quest which the door is immediatly to the right if you are looking at the Auction house guy. Go into the door, answere a few questions and you can now use dragonmarks upon creation of any race that can use them. This means delete the guy you just created to unlock this if you wanted him to have dragonmarks, if he is still low level 1-2.

Hope this helps...:)
