It seems our thread has disappeared along with many others so I've started this one since it was our main way of keeping in touch.

Since Bare Bones seems to be dying and there is a server merge which may complicate things for some of us, here are few questions for everyone still interested.

1) Are you still interested in playing Bare Bones?

2) Would you consider moving Bare Bones to Risia since our characters are about to be copied there?

3) Should we form another guild called BareBones (no space) since Whysper seems to be absent for quite a while now.

4) Would you be interested in meeting at a predetermined day and time to discuss the future of Bare Bones if any or would you prefer to discuss it here.

5) Is it time to take a look at Bare Bones rules and adjust them slightly?

I have really enjoyed playing with all of you and would be very disappointed if the opportunity to continue playing with you all were to vanish. At this point I really don't care if it's in the form of Bare Bones or perhaps just a Wednesday night gaming group that meets regularily.

Now to answer my own questions...

1) Yes I am still interested in playing Bare Bones

2) The server merge will make it so I will have more slots than normal so I will be unable to create new characters. Risia move appeals to me except for the fact that it may in future have it's database wiped again. They are copying our existing characters there so it is something to think about.

3) Possibly reforming the Guild is an option but I will follow the group majority on this one.

4) I am open to whatever the group decides here. I believe we can start the discussion here on this thread and fine tune it with a meeting

5) Once the above points are decided we really do need to sit down and at the very least confirm several of our rules and repost them here.

There ya go I look forward to hearing from you guys. I miss you :(

1) I'm not sure. To be honest I grew tired of the rules. When my friends wanted to test out the Shadowrun stuff on Wednesday nights, I did that, and when that wasn't running, I just played on Adar. Being in a very small guild that tends to stick together leaves you feeling like you are abandoning them when you don't play, which ties into it as well.

2) I'd consider it, not much reason to go over there at the moment.

3) Having an active leader helps when adding characters and such, that makes sense.

4) Here is probably fine, lets people answer as they have time.

5) Depends on what people want to do I guess.

I enjoyed running with everybody, I'd welcome doing that again. No enhancements/not being able to use items that are pulled until levels far out of reach doesn't enhance the game for me anymore, but that is just me.

1)yes still interesting. stupid housework pulling me away from playing online. Im trying to get back to my wed night playing time.
2)I dont know... would depend on whether or not they are making risia permanent or if they are going to erase characters again.
3) I can take over the guild, since im 2nd in command.
4)id like to but with this silly housework.....
5)ill post up the old rules in a few minutes

Here are the rules i recovered from our guildportal.

Decisions made by group consensus. Everyone is an officer to facilitate
new members getting in.
Play would occur on Riedra.
Provided enough people join in, form a regular guild with a preferred
night to play (probably Tuesday or Wednesday). Otherwise will try to form
dedicated playing groups. Currently tentatively Wednesday unless someone
objects.
All guild characters of a certain 'generation' should remain within 3
levels of eachother (can postpone leveling up to help this.) A new generation
can be introduced once the previous is high-enough level (to be determined.)
Groups should consist of 'hardcore' people only. Non-traditional groups
are perfectly fine.
New characters, 28-point buy, no Drow.
No enhancements.
No hand-me-down equipment or money ('twinking'.)
Only non-magical items may be bought. No Brokers or Auction house, no
buying wands or scrolls. Potions are fine.
No static rewards from quests (Delera's, Tangleroot etc.) The non-named
alternative bound end-rewards are fine but they can only be used in accordance
with normal Minimum Level requirements.
Within quests, using resurrection shrines is disallowed (dead characters
may resurrect at the end of the quest to loot chests). Re-entry to quest can
be done by the entire party only, and may not be used to circumvent game
mechanics except in cases of bugs (recall and disband to reset, for example).
Quests should be completed at the appropriate levels, +1 for Hard, +2
for Elite, chain quests need not strictly follow this rule.
Quests should only be repeated once for each difficulty level in general.
Helping others through is fine, of course, if need be. In these cases, remember
to possibly postpone leveling up due to the higher total XP gained.
Collectables are fine, but are subject to normal ML requirements.
Favour rewards that do not affect in-dungeon playing are fine. Decision
has not been made whether, for example, Phiarlan buffs would be acceptable.
Minimum Level requirements are adjusted as follows (subject to review and discussion):
Weapons and armour: +1 have no ML, all ML thereafter are DOUBLED.
For example, a ML 4 weapon becomes ML 8.
Stat items: +1 have ML 3, all ML thereafter are DOUBLED.
Skill items: +1 have no ML, +3 are ML 4, all ML thereafter are DOUBLED.Any bound item (usually a reward) that has a reduced ML has to follow the
same guidelines using its REAL Minimum Level, not the reduced one.

The only rule that i really dislike is the end rewards one, where we cant use the random rewards from WW,delera's, etc... until we could use the item as if we found it in a chest.

You'd probably get more people if you dropped the quest repetition cap/quest rules and modified your item level restrictions. I found the thread late and it looked interesting but appeared that it had already died out from its peak due to loss of interest. It would be nice if it was a massive guild that you could log onto anytime and find people to play with, which would be easier if people could repeat whatever quests they like for fun as opposed to having a character that can only run a few quests left at their level that other people on potentially do not need. And why not let people try higher level quests? The odds of the party getting slaughtered are a lot higher due to the self restrictions. The essence of the guild is characters closer to PNP with scaled back magic items/no twinking right?

So keep it so you can only buy potions. Get rid of the guild bank character, that is cheating too. Equipment may being given to guildmates that you are currently adventuring with only (and no pass backs to your alt).
Change the level restrictions to 2-4 = +1 level
5-9 = +2 levels
10+ = +3 levels
... So that people can actually use some of the stuff they start finding at higher levels (and you still have a high magic Eberron game).

Anyway, if you were a big enough guild where people were playing all the time I'd give it a try.

I was one of the original members, and brought up the guild website.
I found the idea wonderful, no enhancements and pure builds.
I found the item rewards level restrictions to onerous as we progressed.

The other problem was the staying together by level. It seemed as if a sub group was always a bit ahead, and there was confusion about rerunning quests and when. I'd give it a go again maybe, but quest progression needs to be a bit more codified ( we had folks still doing the lobster quests while part of the group was running STK) The other thing is end rewards, Turbine has put some effort in the loot tables, if I earned it according to them I should be able to keep/use it!
Not buying at the vendor or AH is an okay restriction, the only thing to be purchased is consumables (heal kits, potions, thieves tools and ammo)
On one hand we had some heavy restrictions on the other it was a bit to free form.

I too was an original member. Alot of guild raids were scheduled for Wednesday there for awhile and so that is where I went. When the raids died down I kind of just stayed at my home server.

My work schedule's what really kicked me hard. By the time I'd get home, everyone else had called it a night.

I love running with Bare Bones. It was quite the eyeopener with how much one could actually do without being twinked to the gills.

If we do a 'reboot' of the guild, I'm cool with that, though I might reroll Fronteer. Still pondering that one since I'm still twitchy being a mostly combat character.

Ok here are the "rules"

Any bound item (usually a reward) that has a reduced ML are fine to sue at the ML they have on them.

I havent really changed much except for the bound non-static rewards, i dont like the fact that i have 2 items in the bank because i cant use em.

However i would like to keep the other double minimum level stuff in place, because it isnt that hard so far. As we get up higher in levels maybe we will revisit(but i dont think we will need to).
