Hello.

Ok 2 things that i cannot do that i know others can do on these forums.

1) delete posts.

see this thread (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=113780)

2) set myself to invisible.
Here is someone elses edit options screen (http://img102.imageshack.us/my.php?image=editoptionsjv8.jpg).

heres mine (http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q196/z2ggy/DDO/problems.gif)

So is there something fundamentally different between a founders account and a community members account?

devs alittle help here. Im sure im not the only one who is having these problems.

well i dont see why the browser would be a problem. I know its not for the deleting posts, as we went over much of that in the thread i linked to.

I have occasionally gotten a delete post button ...(or could it have been a delete thread button)
never when I wanted it.
this was under my edit options in user cp...

Use Invisible ModeInvisible mode allows you to browse the forums
without appearing in the 'Currently Active Users' lists.
Use Invisible Mode
it had a clickie box...

edit:
I just changed the settings in edit options (down a bit...) to enhanced mode...now I can delete my post.

:(
so the forum option page just made me a liar...
:(

the enhanced (WYSIWYG) option? for the editor interface?

the enhanced (WYSIWYG) option? for the editor interface?Ahh! I use the middle option. Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls.

I can't imagine changing editing options would allow more user options. But hey, it's not my program.

Huh. I'm the same way Ziggy -- no "invisible mode" as an option for me under UserCP/Options/Login&Privacy

And, no way to delete a post that I can figure out.

Same here... another Founder that can not delete or be Invisible..

Maybe Turbine thinks so highly of founders posts that they do not want the founders to have the ability to delete thier suberb information they post or the ability to hide themselfs.. ;)

or...

It is just broken for Founders.

Well, invisible would make it so you appear off-line. You look off-line right now, but who knows if that's because you're really are off-line, or you are truly invisible.

Unfortunately I am offline at this time so I guess that wouldn't be a good test. Sorry.

Actually, I see it as an opening for abuse...
one person says something...not nice.
next person gets offended and responds in kind.
first person deletes the original post and says second person is being mean...
gets everyone on their side.
second person gets reported by multiple people.

i guess the same thing could happen with the edit function...

but hey!

you would never do that...
any of you.
you guys are cool.
i think?
lol!

oh..hey!
why do you want to be invisible...?
I cant tell if anybody is on line...
who's online is blocked...
buddy list is blocked...
:(
i must be broken

Turbine's said that they remain records of all posts, either modified or deleted so that the above situation isn't a factor in thread moderation.

Will is the name of my ex-husband...he really needs to be deleted.
a reroll would prolly bring the same gimped result.

EDIT: AND who cannot delete - even seconds after the post appears and no new comment was posted yet!

To State the obvious, likely when they set up the founder access they didn't given them the same permissions as the Community Member access level. Probably just an oversight. Likely to be corrected now that it has been brought to their attention.

Not sure what the problem is Ziggy. I can use invis mode, although a founder I didnt register on the forums in time to get the title.

Only difference I can see is that you are a founder...maybe that flagg has the invis option turned off for you, I don't know.

In jest, maybe its because you are a rather vocal and well known poster and Turbine thinks you simply couldnt be invis even if you tried...haha...Just poking at ya.

As for deleting posts...I have never been able to nor have ever had the option to be able to do that.

It would seem then that the situation is a permissions problem.

At this point if they want to maintain forms of permissions, it may be near impossible for them to correct with so many thousands of forum members.

However the founder invis thing should be easily corrected if it too is a permission problem, and everyone should have that option. Deleting though is a different situation, and may be allowed only in certain catagories or topics, and each has to be set for each type of permission group. Chances are they have them all mixed up, and little interest in spending time to straighten it all back out.
