    Default Monk Kensai

I suggested to turn Kensei into a MONK tree, not Fighter. Since even on that situation it would requires a large buff, I started this proposal. Feedback always appreciated.

    Core Enhancements

Kensai Focus: (Level 1) Select a group of weapons (same as live) to become your Focus Weapon. Every time something mention your "Focus" it refers to any weapon in your selected group. This do not provide weapon proficiency with any weapons in your Focus group. You also gain a +1 Insight bonus to Enhancement with your Focus for each core enhancement on this tree, including this one.

Strike with no Thoughts: (Level 3) While wielding your Focus, you gain 1% doublestrike and 1% doubleshot. This bonus raises by 1% for each Kensei core enhancement you acquire beyond this one.

Ki Weapon: (Level 6) Passive: While wielding your focus, it gains On Hit: +1 Ki.

One With the Blade: (Level 12) While wielding your Focus, you are not uncentered, and your Focus will bypass DR/Lawful.

One Cut: (Level 18) While wielding your Focus it receives the Vorpal enhancement (including the +[W] bonus) and bypass DR/Adamantine. Your Ki Weapon benefit changes to: On Hit: +2 Ki.

Weapon Focus Mastery: (Level 20) +4 Wisdom, +2 DC to your tactical feats, +15% Doublestrike and Doubleshot, and while wielding your Focus it receives a +1 Insight bonus to critical damage multiplier.

    Tier 1 Enhancements

Focus Specialization: (2 AP) You gain +1 to hit and damage with your Focus.

Ascetic Training: As live (Down from Tier 2)

Reed in the Wind: As live.

Intuitive Combat: (2 AP) You can use your Wisdom modifier to hit with Melee and Missile weapons.

Mighty Presence: +1/+2/+3 Bluff, Diplomacy, Haggle and Intimidate. Rank 3: -10% cooldown on social skills (Includes Half-Elf Grace).

    Tier 2 Enhancements

Focus Specialization: (2 AP, requires Focus Specialization 1) You gain +1 to hit and damage with your Focus.

Improved Tactics: +1/2/3 bonus to the DC of your Tactical abilities.

Improved Dodge: (Requires Dodge feat) +1/2/3% Dodge.

Power Surge: (20 Ki to activate) You gain an Insight bonus to damage and the DC of tactical feats equal to half of your Wisdom modifier for [30/60/120] seconds.

Action Boost: Choose one - Attack Boost or Haste Boost.

    Tier 3 Enhancements

Focus Specialization: (2 AP, requires Focus Specialization 2) You gain +1 to hit and +0.5[W] damage with your Focus.

Shattering Strike: Select Melee or Ranged. Focus (Melee or Ranged) Tactical Attack: Deals +1/2/3[W] damage. On Damage: Target loses 15% fortification for 10 seconds (Fort DC 10 + Half Monk Level + Wisdom Modifier Negates).

Improved Mobility: (Requires Mobility feat and equal rank in Improved Dodge) +1/2/3 Maximum Dexterity bonus and Dodge cap. -1/2/3 Armor Check Penalty in armor. (I know monks don't use armor. This is here for Multiclass purposes. Monks still benefit from the raise on Dodge cap)

Intuitive Damage: (2 AP) You can use your Wisdom modifier for damage with Melee and Missile weapons.

Kensei Ability: (2 AP) +1 Strength, Dexterity or Wisdom.

    Tier 4 Enhancements

Focus Specialization: (2 AP, requires Focus Specialization 3) You gain +1 to hit and +0.5[W] damage with your Focus.

Critical Mastery: +1/2/3 bonus to critical damage and to confirm critical hits.

Spiritual Bonding: While you Meditate you raises the bond between you and your focus. Every 3 seconds of your Meditation you gain a stack of Spiritual Bonding, to a maximum of 10 stacks, and each stack fades after [5/10/15] seconds. Spiritual Bonding gives you +1 Insight Bonus to Melee and Ranged Power, and +1 Insight bonus to Doublestrike and Doubleshot.

Kensei Ability: (2 AP, requires T3 Kensei Ability) +1 Strength, Dexterity or Wisdom.

    Tier 5 Enhancements

Keen Edge: (2 AP) You gain a +1 Competence bonus to Critical Threat Range with your Focus.

Mighty Critical: (2 AP) You gain a +1 Competence bonus to Critical Damage Multiplier with your Focus.

A Good Death: Select Melee or Ranged. Focus (Melee or Ranged) Attack: Perform an attack with +1 Critical Damage Multiplier. On Damage: If the target is below 30% health, deal 500 damage. This damage scales with 400% Melee/Ranged Power.

Unarmored Defenses: While you are wearing no armor (or robe/outfits) you gain +1/2/3 Dodge Cap, and 3/6/9 PRR and MRR.

Deadly Strike: Select Melee or Ranged. Focus (Melee or Ranged) Assassinate Attack (50 Ki): The target of this attack must make a Reflex save (DC 10 + Monk level + Wisdom modifier + Bonus to Assassinate) or be instantly slain. (Cooldown: [60/30/15] seconds)

Amossa d'Cannith, Sarlona, casually trying Completionist (12/14) [<o>]
    Almost-never-played-alts: Arquera - Chapolin - Fabber - Herweg - Mecanico - Tenma

I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.

I like it, especially what you did with power surge.

But having all 3 of these seems a bit too good.

In crusader with a falchion that would be a crit on an 11-20 for 4x damage... Not even including earth stance.
