They don't provide food in the Prison City. You eat whatever/whoever you can kill.

    Default Ham

I wonder if I will get a pat down in August when I enter Wheloon? I hope I can take my ham inside. I will be bummed out if I have to drop my ham by the door when I enter

oh I dunno, not Kargon's Tasty Ham or the Mystery Meat Jerky?

Okay, don't ask me how they made the dried meat.

The only ting about food in Wheloon is that prisoners get it. Sometimes...

    Lightbulb What they eat:

The king wants to punish his subjects, but he wants to treat them with a degree of fairness. This is why he had the War Wizards develop a grain that will supplement all the nutrients required for an adult to stay healthy.

This grain has not been approved for use in the military however, despite it's theoretical usefulness, as it has been shown in rare cases to cause space cancer. Researchers are at the moment baffled.
Because DDO content is created by hand, some issues cannot be fixed with a global change. We must fix these issues one-by-one by hand with the help of bug reports. This includes:
Ladder issues: please include the /loc when reporting a ladder issue

When you kill a monster its body vaporizes into dust right?
    WRONG!
They actually get teleported by a powerful spell to the nearest prison for consumption.
(The prisoners in Wheloon eat vary well.)
The war wizards cast this spell in an attempt to get rid of all the millions of corpses left by every enemy slain by every adventurer in Cormyr.
The twelve cast a similar spell, only they teleport the corpses to an alternate dimension.

Wheloon is always a city, so they can eat whatever they find.

Unlike the rest of the civilized human cities however there is the detrimental influence of the Shadowfell that accelerates decay of ill conserved food.

In this dire situation the common citizens are holed up in their homes rationing their few available edibles while the prisoners that took over the rest of the city are sacking every building that looks like it may still have provisions left.

Time is slowly passing and the threat of cannibalism is each day more real.

I have spent hours of my life contemplating this very question, that is probably as old as Wheloon itself.
After a long day of research (peering in on the city with binoculars) i have determined.....
That most trolls have better culinary talent than those ruffians.

Default Perhaps some of Chauntea's faithful

...Were able to survive all that has occurred within the city. As a deity, she has survived the likes of Cyric and Bane, Kazgoroth (Bhaal) and the Spellplague, so I believe she has a few followers within the walls of Wheloon. These kind-hearted folk would secretly grow grain to help feed the population while her druid and ranger followers would help defend what remained.

The problem with being punctual is that no one is there to appreciate it...

Good and plentyfull. You have the Wyvenflow river promoting heavy traffic from the town
that exports more food than anywhere else in Cormyr.
