Better drops from Breakables?
Has anyone else noticed that we seem to be getting better drops from breakables ( Barrels and crates).

So far today I have gotten the following:
1. +1 half-plate ( Level 4 Quest on Elite).
2. +1 Dwarven Axe of Lesser Reptilian Bane ( Level 4 Quest on Elite).
3. +1 Keen Longsword of Dragon Bane ( Level 7 Quest on Hard).
Update! Apparently this is working as intended! See below!

yes i picked up a corrosion of healing mastery ... junk but it did come from a crate

From the new chain in eveningstar on epic hard, a +4 incinerating bastword sword with sneak attack +2 dropped from a barrel

Break em while ya can, if this is true - cause I'm betting it's a bug. And since it might just be of a benefit to players, it's sure be fixed asap.

Not a bug.
All breakables can now drop a wider variety of items, including equipment.

I haven't gotten around to DDOing today but I must ask...

Are we still getting Cure light wounds pots from high level quests? I don't think I'm playing the same game anymore without these pots dropping!

Any chance you can clarify the change then? Because a few years back I got a +5 Vicious Khopesh of Pure Good to drop from smashing an ice wall in Prey on the Hunter.... which seemed pretty fancy for a breakable drop, what's different now?

Hmmm, someting not included in the release note, or at least I don't remember seeing it in there.

That being said, I guess Zergers wouldn't have even noticed!

Before, only ice and Ogre-style urns could drop equipment. Ogre urns could only drop armor.

Now, all breakables can drop all kinds of items.

Long ago I got a +1 tome from a breakable... so probably.

My guess is there is a chance of a piece of random loot, but the level of the loot is a bit lower than it would be from a chest.

Well Prey of the Hunter was a level 17 Quest, I just completed The Kobold's New Ringleader on Elite and pulled the following:
1. +2 Longbow.
2. Minor Mnemonic Enhancer Potion.
3. +1 Ogre Power Belt of Expedious Retreat.
4. Plus Several Gems
5. 2 x Cure Mod Pots
If could run that quest like 10 times before today and I be lucky to pull one Cure Mod Potion.

Only area I remember pulling items from before this update was Sorrow Dusk Isle Wilderness area and Quests.

I was thinking the same thing. I guess the party leader will have to start setting up rules for breakables now... and hope the puggers honor those rules.

Will certainly slow down pugging: "Hey, here's a +2 tome! Okay, roll a d100 highest roll wins." Ten feet later "Hey, here's a +4 something-or-other! Okay, roll a d100 highest roll wins."

I do love the change though. Especially since I solo or duo with a guildie most of the time.

Yeah serious issues from this sort of thing for party harmony. It's not like this is the first time something like this was thought up either...they changed epic scroll drops for this exact reason from this type of mechanic.

Yes.

Breakables from Information is the Key are dropping nothing at all, not even gold.

Or, we could own up to the fact that we are an older player-base and act our age, even if it is a game.

Including store items?

Any chance of getting Astral Diamonds to show up in groups of five in the chest as not much we can do with a single diamond other than toss it.
