Enhancements

Enhancements are a series of alternate advancement abilities you can use to complement your character's abilities! They can provide bonuses to existing skills, feats, and abilities. They can even unlock more powers and special abilities based on your race and class, or other character qualities!

To begin selecting enhancements, you must visit a class trainer. Your trainer will present a selection of enhancements for you to spend your Action Points on. Action Points are earned by achieving ranks as you earn experience in the game. You can spend Action Points with your trainer as you acquire them, or save them up and spend them later!

Chosing Enhancments

Initially you will have a small amount of choices available to you for enhancements. As you advance in rank and level, more options become available! Each enhancement costs a certain amount of Action Points. There are also often pre-requisites that you must meet before you can purchase the enhancment.

To learn about the benefits of the enhancement, simply mouse over the enhancement icon, and you will be shown more information about what benefits the enhancement will provide.

When you see an enhancement you'd like, simply select it, and drag it into the right hand window of "Selected Enhancements". You can use the undo and redo button to quickly edit a mistake choice you made until you're ready to confirm your enhancement choices. Once you've spent as many points as you want to spend, click "Accept" and you will now have those enhancements! Any remaining points you haven't spent will still be available to you until you're ready to spend them.

If you're not happy with the enhancement choices you've made for your character, you can use the "Reset" button to erase all of your enhancement choices, and any Action Points you've spent will be available to you to repurchase your enhancements all over again from scratch! Sometimes you may find that the combination of enhancements you picked early on in your character's life aren't as beneficial as you reach higher levels. You might find new ways to enhance your character using enhancements you didn't pick originally, and the reset option is perfect for experimenting with your playstyle!

Prerequisites

Some enhancements will require you to be a high enough level, or even a high enough level of a class. In other cases, you may need to have certain feats taken before you can qualify for the enhancement. You may even find that one of the pre-requisites of an enhancement is to have spent a certain number of your Action Points first. If you do not meet the pre-requisites of an enhancement, all requirements will be listed in red text, so that you know why you aren't able to pick that particular enhancement.

Enhancement Tiers

Some enhancements are part of a series. As you increase in rank and level, and meet pre-requisites, advanced versions of the enhancement become available to you. You can view the full list of tiers of each enhancement by selecting "show unavailable" at the bottom of the Available Enhancements side of your enhancement window. You can collapse and expand the enhancements for ease of viewing, and also a look further down the line so you can plan out your character goals!

Types of Enhancements

Enhancements can do many things! They can provide bonuses to your ability scores, provide increased benefit from feats you've already taken, or even be a special ability that wouldn't be available through any means other than purchase through action points!

Some enhancements are passive, and are always active without  needing to be triggered. These enhancements can be identified by their octagonal shaped icons

Some enhancements are active, and are not in use until you trigger them using your hotbars. To use an active enhancement, open your character sheet using the C key, and click on the enhancements tab. This is a list of all enhancements you currently have. Drag the icon of your enhancement down onto a spot in your hotbars. You can now use the hotbar to activate that ability! Some active abilities are usable once for a temporary benefit, have a brief cooldown period, and must be activated again. Other active abilities are able to be toggled on and remain active until you toggle them back off.

You may find that there are even passive enhancements that unlock both passive and active abilities! You can expand your enhancement tree to view all associated abilities.
